A Gallup
poll has found that by a 68 percent to 21 percent margin,
Americans oppose Joe Wilson's shout of "You lie!" during
President Obama's health care speech to a joint session of
Congress. But a closer look shows that just 23 percent were
actually "outraged" by what Wilson did, and only 6 percent were
"thrilled." Combined, that means that while Americans
overwhelmingly opposed Wilson's heckle, just 29 percent of people
actually had strong feelings about it one way or another, despite
the continued media harping on the incident.
In other Wilson news, a story on the front page of the
Washington Post today
asks, "behind the incident some see a broader question: Is
racism a factor in the way the president is being judged?"
One has to wonder what these undoubtedly uninformed respondents
would say if they knew why Wilson said what he did. Especially if
they were awakened to the fact that the Senate Finance Committee
thought enough about the outburst to work on placing language in
their proposal that would make certain that what Wilson was
outraged about didn't occur. Or that Obama himself felt the need
to state specifically that he would propose language keeping
illegals from purchasing taxpayer funded insurance.
Wilson was right!

Rather Wilson was right is debateable. Almost every fact check
org has stated he was wrong. But what is clear s that the forum
was not right, it was not some unknown obscure Congresman from SC
speech, it was Pres. Obama speech and moment. Such self
grandstanding is rude, stupid, and crazy. It is why nationally
repubs have such a low approval and the op of most Americans is
that this was just plain crazy.

It's almost amazing how much reverence the left has for the
office of the Presidency when it's occupied by one of their own.

And if we want to get technical, Obama lied repeatedly throughout
his speech as he referred to "his plan".
He has no plan, and hasn't since he's been in office. He is not a
leader, but a speaker.

Hoosier Alex...You sir, are correct. Mr. Spencer may have his
finger on something...but it ain't the pulse of the American
public. Liberals and sanctimoniousness are inseparable. As well
as they and their selective outrage.

Count me in with the 6% who were "thrilled"!

Wilson had the temerity to say out loud, "the Emperor has no
clothes!" How dare him. I must have missed the liberal
condemnation of the booing of George W. at the 2005 State of the
Union. Do correct me if I'm mistaken, of course.
