A Reaganite friend, who shall remain nameless but is amused to be
targeted for something of this nature, forwards this newest
e-mail. Yes, it's real, name changed to protect the innocent.

XXXXX --
I just finished laying out my plan for health reform at a joint
session of Congress. Now, I'm writing directly to you because
what happens next is critical -- and I need your help.
Change this big will not happen because I ask for it. It can
only come when the nation demands it. Congress knows where I
stand. Now they need to hear from you.
The heart of my plan is simple: bring stability and security to
Americans who already have health insurance, guarantee
affordable coverage for those who don't, and rein in the cost
of health care.
Tonight, I offered a specific plan for how to make it happen. I
incorporated the best ideas from Democrats and Republicans to
create a plan that's bold, practical, and represents the broad
consensus of the American people.
We've come closer to real health reform in the last few months
than we have in the last 60 years. But those who profit from
the status quo -- and those who put partisan advantage above
all else -- will fight us every inch of the way.
We do not seek that fight, but we will not shrink from it. The
stakes are too high to let scare tactics cloud the debate, or
to allow partisan bickering to block the path. Your voice,
right now, is essential.
See my full plan and call on your representatives to
support it:
Ours is not the first generation to understand the dire need
for health reform. And I am not the first president to take up
this cause, but I am determined to be the last.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed Obama has still not
submitted a Heath-Care Bill to Congress. The “Plan” listed at the
web site is a vague list of dubious assertions not a submittable
Bill to Congress.
The Bill under discussion originated in the House and apparently
unknown by Obama and his minions. The Health-Care Bill was
created by Pelosi's minions so is it surprising Obama's
assertions are untouched by reality. I am the only person who
noticed Obama gave a speech about a alternate reality known only
to him.

I don't know, Mr. Lord. This seems pretty conventional to me.
I will admit that some of the publicity and fundraising
operations of this administration are weirdly narcissistic, but I
believe that characteristic is part of the package when you adopt
corporate style communications. All this "branding" business
leads to superficiality and shallowness, in my opinion.
Having said all this: what's the issue here? I really don't get
it.

I received the same e-mail. Handily, the phone numbers to Kirk,
Durbin #2 Democrat in the Senate, and Burris were included. I
happily called and informed the young receptionists that I
OPPOSED reform efforts in their current incarnation.

"And I am not the first president to take up this cause, but I am
determined to be the last. "
May you TRULY be the last, 0bamanation that causes desolation.

The narrative is always about him. "And I am not the first
president to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the
last. " He has an extraordinary amount of self regard even for a
politician. I'm reminded of the late George Harrison. "I,
Me,
Mine.

I was anticipating the punch line but you left us hanging... :(

He is the alpha.
He is the omega.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

"Thank you, President Barack Obama"
That IS the punchline. And the joke is on us.
