I would be interested in reading Jim Antle's thoughts on this
CQ
article on the possibility of a Republican successor to Ted
Kennedy for the Massachusetts senate seat.
I am not an expert but I am skeptical of the idea that
Massachusetts Republicans are capable of mounting an effective
race. The CQ article references the 36 percent of Mass.
voters who went for McCain in the last election in addition to a
large block of independents, but the first step toward uniting
those voters behind a candidate would be fielding a real
candidate. Recent history suggests that might be a tall order...
The favorite at this point has to be Joe Kennedy.
I think Curt Schilling, who is profiled in the article,
legitimately could have won a statewide race in November of 2004
or even 2007.
Well said, Joseph, however, your comment is not limited to
Massachusetts, as in: “I am not an expert but I am skeptical of
the idea that (insert state) Republicans are capable of mounting
an effective race.”
Like you, I always look forward to Jim’s take on such matters.

The Commonwealth is a rotten borough decided by union interests
and far left moonbats.
The interesting question will be with Attorney General Martha
Coakley (moonbat) and Congressman Steve Lynch (union functionary)
already in the race and not dissuaded by the undeclared Kennedy,
will there be an internecine battle on the Democratic side?
Former Congressman Joe Kennedy, who likes a sure thing like many
Massachusetts liberals, may defer in favor of Vicky Kennedy.
Scott Brown and Former US Attorney Sullivan are untested. Kerry
Healey may look better since she sounded the alarm, ran and at
least tried to prevent Deval.
If a Kennedy runs, that Kennedy wins. But Vicki has repeatedly
said she's not interested, and Joe-- who has his good reasons to
avoid media scrutiny (like his dealings with Hugo Chavez)-- is
acting awfully hesitant. The favorite right now, old son, in
Martha Coakley.

If the Kennedys opt out of the race look for that degenerate clan
to back Mike Capuano.
Coakley has not shown sufficient deference to the Kennedys,
announcing she would run even before Ted's demise.
Best scenario: the Dem moonbats tear each other to pieces and
somehow union favorite Lynch squeezes out a victory in the Dem
primary.
Yes, folks, in MA, the union guy would be preferable to the
moonbat.
