Outrageous vs. Honduras

Not that Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton care what I think, but I think their treatment of Honduras borders on the criminal.

– The Obama administration on Thursday cut all non-humanitarian aid to Honduras over the ouster of President Manuel Zelaya, making permanent a temporary suspension of U.S. aid imposed after he was deposed in June.

That was from the AP account. And this: "In addition to the aid cut, he said the State Department would revoke the U.S. visas of an unspecified number of Honduran officials who are backing Micheletti. The department had previously revoked the visas of four Honduran officials."

I defer to the great Miguel Estrada on the constitutionality of Honduras' treatment of its thuggish former president. What is it about lefties like Obama and Clinton that make them think it is okay to throw their weight around trying to force an ally to ignore its own Constitution against an anti-American, authoritarian menace like Zelaya, but NOT okay to throw their weight around in support of real democratic protesters in Iran and elsewhere who are at least more favorably disposed toward the U.S. than are their corrupt, election-rigging rulers? Why it it okay to interfere in favor of a critic of the U.S. who is also acting extraconstitutionally (under a constitution actually republican in form), but not okay to interfere in favor of a critic of a U.S. enemy who holds power only through cheating, under a constitution that is republican in name only?

In the non-formal sense of the word, the Obama/Clinton policy is almost treasonous. (In other words, not legally "treason" against the United States, but, quoting Webster's New World Collegiate Dictionary, having to do with a "betrayal of trust or faith."

Forget this "none dare call it treason" stuff. It is treasonous. It betrays our faith that our national officials will act in the best interests of the United States and in support of AMerican values of constitutional republicanism. Obama keeps SAYING he intends to act in support of our "highest values." Whose values, kemosabe? Maybe Obama values tinpot leftist thugs who violate their own nation's constitution, but I sure don't.

Hillary Clinton's senior thesis subject was Saul Alinsky, right? As I recall, Hillary had it disappeared from Wellesley's archives.

We always knew she was a true believer.

Outrage Honduras has been the USA most loyal and poorest ally. Mark my words LOYAL. What they have done is a slap to democracy, This great country was founded on different morals. Our forefathers should be ashamed!

Our forefathers are ashamed--of us.

The State Department is completely wrong to punish the people of Honduras for defending their democracy after Zelaya stated he wanted to change their contitution. If the State Department is for Zelaya does that mean they are for communism as Zelaya seems to be influenced by Chavez, and if that is so, does that mean the now United States Administration is for communism after so many American people have died defending the country. This whole episode needs to be addressed in its entirety because of the negativeness by the United States Administration.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: why is anyone shocked that the adminstration of a demagogue who ignores the rule of law is so ardently supporting a demagogue who ignores the rule of law?

Be that as it may, the USA is free to stop aiding any country we want. BUT, to stop aiding Honduras in order to reinstate a Dictator in The Making ? Even after the state department ADMITS that Mr. Zelaya was ousted BY the Supreme Court AND Congress of Honduras ? Coup ? Really ? Whats THAT all about ? I smell hidden agenda! Someone HAS some explaining to do! I also heard US Embassador to Honduras Mr. Hugo Llorens had some shabby business with Mr. Zelaya some years back, and that he is one of the most fervent believers in Zelaya's Chavist (communist) ideas.

It is really SAD to see the USA executive branch of the Government to treat a DEMOCRATIC country name HONDURAS. I am 61 years old and all my life I understood that USA was the champion of DEMOCRACY. No more my friends, 2009 will be reacalled as the death of pluralistic democracy in USA. How sad.
There was no military coup, it was the execution of the Supreme Court order and followed by a Congress nomination of Micheletti and the USA executive branch of the government knows perfectly that it is true, then why punish the little country that could sabe democracy from chavism? No body will have faith in USA as a friend.

There is talk how we are approaching a communist regime here; not so! We are already under a communist regime. We have a system of community organizations (read local soviets) with the ACORN brownshirts, financed by the $9 billion in the stimulus bill. We have a supporting cast of union thugs (SEIU, AFL-CIO, AFSCMEE, TEACHER UNIONS) organized for quick action, violence, demonstrations, intimidation. We have a system of 34 czars - in reality komissars -responsible only to the Great Leader, Abu Hussein from Kenya, our Community Organizer-in-Chief. No wonder we are "opening" our relations with the islamic terrorists, Latin dictators, African thugs, various liberation armies; we are doing nothing about North Korean and Iranian nuclear bombs; we are giving $900 million to Hamas.

In 1776 our fathers rose this nation according to Liberty. We fought so many wars to keep the World away from the Fascism, Terrorism and Communism, in Europe, Korea, Vietnam, Irak, to name a few. Now we have Obama and Hillary Clinton siding up against our only allie we have in the region -in El Salvador the leftist won- WTF??? Are we crazy? The Iranian situation was handled extremely bad, we´ve been waiting for something there since 1979, and now HONDURAS?? I might say Ronald Reagan must be crying in heaven, when Honduras gave his territory to fight Soviet owned Nicaragua back in th 80's. And now we pay them with this, sometimes I just think Democrats don´t have a clue about anything outside our borders...
