Sometimes leaders lie to their followers to improve morale.
People will lie to a mortally wounded person and tell the person
everything will be alright.
MoveOn.org, incredibly enough, is telling its supporters it is
"winning" the fight to force government-run healthcare down the
throats of Americans.
It also keeps pushing its push poll that falsely reports that
Americans support the socialist public option.
Here is the group's latest email --filled with the usual lies and
distortions about what the public wants-- to supporters:
Dear MoveOn member,
After a few weeks of health care craziness, there's good news:
we're winning on the ground. Lots of town
halls are now dominated by supporters of health care reform.
The vast majority of Americans want the choice of a public
plan.1 And a powerful bloc of progressives in the
House is standing strong on real reform.
The really bad news? The media's still acting like President
Obama's health care plan is on the skids.
If we don't turn the conventional wisdom around before
Congress begins voting on health care, we could be in big
trouble.
We've got a plan to make it happen. It starts tomorrow with
major vigils across the country to bring the media's focus back
to the real people suffering under the current health care
system.
And then we'll shake up the media story again by going on the
offensive against Republicans, with a new series of tough ads
that call them out for their ties to the health insurance
industry.
But to actually make a big splash, we need to raise
$185,000 today—and that's going to take at least 50 donations
from people in Washington. Can you chip in $20 right
now to help out?
[LINK OMITTED]
Right now, Republicans in Congress think they can get away with
viciously slandering President Obama's plan for a public health
insurance option—even though 77% of Americans say they want to
have the choice of a public plan.2
These Republicans need a
reality check. Every member of Congress should know that
opposing health care reform isn't just morally wrong—it's
politically dangerous and unpopular.
That's why we're planning some very tough new TV ads. They'll
let voters know exactly how much money their representatives
have taken from the insurance industry, whose top goal this
year is to kill the public option.
These ads are a surefire way to put Republicans on the
defensive, and show that Americans want their representatives
to stop siding with insurance companies by obstructing health
care reform.
To hit our goal of $185,000 and get
these ads on the air, we need at least 50 people in Washington
to step up.Can you chip in $20 right now to
help out?

Thanks for all you do.

John--Obama's numbers are tanking!! Keep fighting.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 9:17AM
One thing's for sure: No matter what happens today, tomorrow or
next week, conservatives - and rank-and-file Americans who value
their self-determination - can never, ever rest against the
threat: Barry Goldwater was right: Extremism in the defense of
liberty is indeed no vice.
Health care reform may well go down in flames, and to save it,
Obama says that the public option is off the table. Do NOT
believe it. Control of our bodies is the raison d’être of the
Obama administration and represents the key to the totalitarian
kingdom.
The sad truth is that liberalism, leftism, progressivism, Marxism
- whatever they want to call it - is never defeated; it can only
be beaten back temporarily, like crab grass. Or perhaps more
ominously, it's like a noxious gas that hangs in the air in
perpetuity, eternally ready to rush into the edifice of democracy
through the slightest breach and poison its once-robust
occupants.
And the bigger the vacuum created by a lack of conservative
leadership, the more readily that poison permeates our breathing
space.
Health care reform may die an inglorious death; Obama may lose
his political capital; overreaching Senators and congressmen may
lose their elections; the country may lurch back toward the
center. But public opinion is a pendulum, and every time it
swings to the left, it institutionalizes and ossifies socialism a
little more. And even if the blatant leftism of the
ObamaStalinists is rejected now, and the pendulum dutifully
swings back to the right, one thing is for sure: It will return,
and every time it does, it steals a little more of our freedom –
freedom that a reactionary swing back to the right never
obviates.
Look at the utter socialist pabulum that is now taught in our
public schools. The march toward this leftist indoctrination has
scarcely broken its stride since the 1950s despite Nixon, despite
the Reagan revolution, despite the patrician George H. W. Bush,
despite the supposed conservatism of George W. Bush (and No Child
Left Behind was NOTHING but a structural beam propping up the
Marxist teaching unions and further institutionalizing all that
is wrong with education).
Conservatives agitate for term limits. That’s fine, but it
doesn’t address the problem. Elected public servants didn’t write
the stimulus bill and the health care monstrosity. The permanent
class in Washington DC wrote them: The lobbyists, the
apparatchiks, the ensconced staffers, the legal leeches and other
assorted miscreants, none of whom rent homes in DC – they buy
them. Because politicians may or may not come and go, but the
metastasized bureaucrat, the vermin we never see unless we shine
a light in the dead of night, isn’t going anywhere. Ever.
And so freedom must know no respite. It must be ever-vigilant,
for there will always be an endless supply of intellectual
posers, self-appointed ubermenschen all too eager to remake
society in the image forged in the vanity mirrors of their own
egos.
And that image is always of themselves with a foot on the throat
of you and me. That image never, ever changes. And that is why we
cannot merely defeat health care. We cannot merely expose Obama
as a wannabe third world dictator. We cannot merely oust his clan
of social engineers and “Social justice” storm troopers. We
cannot merely neutralize the ideologically perverse bureaucratic
weeds that are choking the garden of capitalism.
We must each and every day value our freedom as a physical act.
We must demand true reform that eradicates those who have
hijacked our country and daily work to weaken the foundation and
will not be happy until the whole structure is brought down. We
must slay the leviathan.
We must recognize that, sadly, there are far, far more Barack
Obamas in this world than there are Ronald Reagans. We must fight
for our freedom each and every day we are on this planet and
never, ever cede an inch to the tyrants who are always waiting to
breach the fragile levies of freedom. This country is OURS. Not
THEIRS. It’s time to make Washington DC a small backwater swamp
again and not the nexus where big money changes hands and the
futures that are traded back and forth so callously are our own.
Where the hell is Winston Churchill when you need him?

I found the "math" in the article fascinating. The want $185,000,
and need at least 50 people to donate $20. That adds up to $1000.
To get to their goal, they need at least 9,250 people to donate
$20. How these people ever came into power is utterly beyond my
comprehension.

Gryzmlyk,
"Look at the utter socialist pabulum that is now taught in our
public schools. The march toward this leftist indoctrination has
scarcely broken its stride since the 1950s..."
And patently obvious in this telling Van Jones quote linked
yesterday in the desecrators of 9/11 article:
Convinced that American society needed a wake-up call on race,
Jones abandoned his plan to become a journalist, concluding that
he would rather make news than report it. "If I'd been in another
country, I probably would have joined some underground guerrilla
sect," he said. "But as it was, I went on to an Ivy League law
school."
G, great post... I would love to shake your hand.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 2:08PM
Thank you, Campy. I enjoy your posts as well.
I never thought I'd wind up being forced to reject my government
and take up arms against tyranny here in America but, as Tom
Paine once said, these are times that try men's souls.
With this administration breeding little fuehrers - excuse me,
czars - everywhere, the rise of Stalinist thugs like Van Jones is
simply a sign that we have indeed arrived at those times.
Anyone who thinks Obama will give up "the public option," or, as
I prefer to call it, The New Slavery, doesn't see the big
picture.
Because we ARE a tolerant nation, and because we have hitherto
been unable to conceive of an existential threat to our
Constitution-fueled American Exceptionalism from within, we have
allowed this insanity to take root over the last 100 years. And
now it is flowering as it never has before; the weed of Marxism
has overrun the garden.
Well, I think we have laid down for this Marxist crap long
enough. I only hope we don't, as Tytler observed, inevitably
trudge back into bondage without so much as a wimper.
And the tea parties and the town halls are good, but they are
only a toehold. There are many, many battles to be fought, and as
with illegal immigration, it's going to be hard, if not
impossible, to unring the liberal bell.
But, one way or another, we have got to take this country back so
that the Obamas of the world dare not show their faces in public
and his ilk couldn't even conceive of getting elected dog catcher
in Peoria.

Grzmlyk--one quibble: I see many Ronald Reagans on this blog.
Look in the mirror, doll.
This is our time and we have to stand up--we will stand up. We
will not lose our country to these thugs, thieves and traitors.
To other patriots, I say, "Not on our watch!"
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 2:35PM
Angel: Nice to be hanging around here at the same time you are
for once! I usually miss you by hours.
You make an excellent point.
I guess I've just been so disappointed by what passes for
Republican leadership over the last several years; yet we seem to
produce little Mussolinis on the left with alarming fedundity.
I still can't quite believe that we nominated John McCain in '08.
The entire Republican field made me queasy. At one point I
thought Thompson was the answer, but he fizzled before I could
even figure out his positions.
And so many Republicans turn out to be RINOs. I know some trolls
will be quick to poitn out that government grew under Reagan,
which is true - but not because he was a fan of big government.
It was because the inertial momentum of The Leviathan was already
unstoppable even by his tenure.
But thanks to you and others on this site - and thousands of
rank-and-file Americans, perhaps we can turn this into a movement
of millions that will not be ignored for once. Because that's
what it will take. In my fantasies, I see five million patriots
marching on Washington.
And I will add to your "not on our watch" with my own "I was NOT
born to serve the state!"
Who knows, if Obama gets what he wants, maybe even Jeanine
Garofalo will join us!
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 3:22PM
Why? Why bring HER up? I was having such a nice day, too. lol
I understand your disappointment, I'm an idealist, too. But, I'm
also stubborn, ornery and enraged!
I know that we can do this, dear Grzmlyk, after all, we are the
sons and daughters of Washington, Madison, Adams, Jefferson and
Reagan, right?
On a personal note, I am my father's daughter and Daddy will be
so upset with me if I don't defend our nation's liberty.
Excuse my prescience, but I can feel a tipping point coming
soon--something is going to happen that will crystallize matters
for us. I can feel it.
I hope you don't mind that I relate to you in a personal way. We
have a lot in common ideologically, and it's comforting to talk
to others like me. I don't feel so alone.
God bless you, Grzmlyk.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 4:04PM
Sorry for the Jeanine Garofalo reference.
I just think that, if Obama is allowed to enact his vision,
she'll be enslaved just like the rest of us and THEN maybe libs
like her would understand that it's not about hating Obama
because he's black. It's about the fact that "social justice" may
be a nice daydream, but when it's erected in the real world, it
is ALWAYS a prison.
As for relating personally, are you kidding? It means a lot to
me, Angel! I feel alone too - in the various arenas in which I've
toiled in my life, I have always been the lone conservative. I
dare not reveal my politics to colleagues and peers because they
would ostracize me and it could affect my future (or what's left
of it!).
The one or two forays I've made into voicing my opinion have been
met with utter hostility and resulted in ugly confrontations.
Liberals - particularly the ignorant ones with whom I am in
contact - do not understand the way the world works. They are
happy to comfort themselves with the hoariest of bromides such as
"diversity" and "tolerance" and "caring" without recognizing the
corrupt thuggery that lurks behind those soothing words.
At the time Obama was elected, I was dating a woman who voted for
him because "blacks are cooler than whites." Well, that and she
believes All Things Liberal are Good, and All Things Conservative
are Evil. I mean, can you friggin’ believe it? No, it didn't last
long. I think it ended about November 7. And yes, she is white.
But white guilt, frothed up by historical ignorance and an
abiding narcissism, had taken full possession of her soul. She
will never understand what liberalism is all about. She will
never understand what Obama is all about; and that has nothing to
do whatsoever with his skin color.
So believe me, it's comforting for me to talk to you, too.
I hope you are right about us reaching a critical mass. But,
given my experiences like the one above (and they are myriad),
I've come to fear the worst. And even those who aren't
dyed-in-the-wool liberals scare me - perhaps even more
frightening is the fickle pendulum that is the general
electorate. All those "independents" who seem to decide our
elections tend to swing with the wind. They were brainwashed to
hate Bush and everything Republican during his eight years, so of
course they voted en masse for Obama.
Now they're becoming disillusioned with Obama, but even if he
loses this fight - and the many more he plans to wage - should
conservatism take hold again, these bobble heads will just
eventually become disillusioned with that leadership and bounce
back and vote in the next Marxist to run. That's what depresses
me so much.
But most Americans, in the privacy of their hearts, really ARE
conservative. EVEN the woman I dated! She just can't bear it. But
conservatism is REALITY. I do believe that.
It's just that we have become such a wealthy society - as a rule,
subsistence is not foremost on our minds when we awaken in the
morning - that we have learned to indulge the luxury of
entertaining our basest moral vanity; now, with the rise of
Obama, so many Americans have decided to enshrine it. Bad idea.
And along with that vain desire to see themselves as having
overcome the crass self-interest that is one of the hallmarks of
human nature, many of these people crave, above anything else,
the approbation of their peers. Hell, even I dare not speak out
because of how it may affect my life.
But many people who are just as happy to equate this liberal crap
with true goodness are even more reluctant to stand up and say,
dammit, I'm tired of being a phony saint! I'm tired of pretending
self-interest isn't a guiding force in my life! I'm tired of
being TOLERANT of every perversion, every demand, every
accusatory finger that's pointed at me. I'm tired of being called
selfish because I don't advocate this "from each according to his
needs to each according to his ability" balderdash.
There are lots of reasons why we find ourselves in this
predicament - our education system being one of the biggest ones.
Our young people are absolutely indoctrinated. And there's been
so much wealth sloshing around this country for so long, many of
these irresponsible, callow liberals have not had to reap what
they have sown.
Once they are forced to lie in the bed they've made, THEN I think
we will have reached critical mass.
I just pray it's not too late.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 4:36PM
G, You need to be with your 'real' people. You're too smart and
sensitive not to have sympathetic hearts and minds around you.
Your perspective is colored by the people in your life, and I
sense despondency in your posts. There are many ideological soul
mates out here for you: You just need more support.
Be so very glad that your relationship with that girl ended--she
was trouble. She didn't deserve you anyway. Look at the hot
Conservative women around--they would understand you.
Have you tried social networking with Conservatives?
Two of my older sisters are very liberal and I have a hard time
when I'm visiting them--I have to get on my computer and blog
with my Conservative friends to keep my sanity. Weird, but true.
It's a strange time right now; it's hard to make sense of it:
But, strangely enough, I know things are going to be okay. We're
here for a reason.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 6:21PM
Thanks, Angel:
I'm of two minds about the "despondency" comment because, in my
day-to-day life, I'm a pretty optimistic, upbeat person. Most
people who know me think it's impossible to get a serious comment
out of me because I joke around ALOT. And a quick wit is perhaps
the most valuable tool I have to deflect some of the outrageous
comments I regularly hear.
On the other hand, I won't deny that, since the history of
civilization is mostly one of tyrannical governance, I believe we
are headed inexorably toward that end - whether Obama goes down
in flames or not. People who believe in big government are the
ones who wind up holding the levers of power. Conservatives who
don't live to tell other people how to live are very happy to do
their own thing within the circle of their family and friends.
Liberals always want to IMPACT society. And that's why I think
you wind up with libs being the permanent class of governance.
You don't find too many bureaucrats - whether they're elementary
school teachers or CIA middle managers - who vote Republican.
But you are very kind. I don't KNOW any conservatives. I haven't
really done the social networking thing, but perhaps I'll give it
a try.
BTW, that woman WAS trouble. We've remained friendly, but I am
glad things ended very quickly. I don't need insanity in my life.
Again, you are very nice. Maybe I will try the conservative
social networking route.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 7:12PM
Isolation sucks and it can lead to a skewed perspective. I
struggle with despondency, too.
Of course you're right about a lot of the difficulties now, but
there's also a lot of fun out there, too, and many great people
to know and love.
I laugh hard at what some of the AmSpec bloggers post--absolutely
sparkling wit abounds--you're right in the middle of it!
Not fair that someone like you isn't sharing your gifts--because
you've got plenty. Do you HAVE to stay at your job? It sounds
like it comes with a big price tag.
G, you sound like you need to have some fun.
That's it, I'm done; I don't mean to intrude-- just know you're
not alone, okay?

And that image is always of themselves with a foot on the throat of you and me. That image never, ever changes. And that is why we cannot merely defeat health care. We cannot merely expose Obama as a wannabe third world dictator. We cannot merely oust his clan of social engineers and “Social justice” storm troopers. We cannot merely neutralize the ideologically perverse bureaucratic weeds that are choking the garden of capitalism.
We must each and every day value our freedom as a physical act. We must demand true reform that eradicates those who have hijacked our country and daily work to weaken the foundation and will not be happy until the whole structure is brought down. We must slay the leviathan.
We must recognize that, sadly, there are far, far more Barack Obamas in this world than there are Ronald Reagans. We must fight for our freedom each and every day we are on this planet and never, ever cede an inch to the tyrants who are always waiting to breach the fragile levies of freedom. This country is OURS. Not THEIRS. It’s time to make Washington DC a small backwater swamp again and not the nexus where big money changes hands and the futures that are traded back and forth so callously are our own.
Where the hell is Winston Churchill when you need him?

Grzymly, best post ever.

I found the "math" in the article fascinating. The want $185,000, and need at least 50 people to donate $20. That adds up to $1000. To get to their goal, they need at least 9,250 people to donate $20. How these people ever came into power is utterly beyond my comprehension.

Thank you, Dave Lincoln.

Gryzmlyk,
"Look at the utter socialist pabulum that is now taught in our public schools. The march toward this leftist indoctrination has scarcely broken its stride since the 1950s..."
And patently obvious in this telling Van Jones quote linked yesterday in the desecrators of 9/11 article:
Convinced that American society needed a wake-up call on race, Jones abandoned his plan to become a journalist, concluding that he would rather make news than report it. "If I'd been in another country, I probably would have joined some underground guerrilla sect," he said. "But as it was, I went on to an Ivy League law school."
G, great post... I would love to shake your hand.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 2:08PM
Thank you, Campy. I enjoy your posts as well.
I never thought I'd wind up being forced to reject my government and take up arms against tyranny here in America but, as Tom Paine once said, these are times that try men's souls.
With this administration breeding little fuehrers - excuse me, czars - everywhere, the rise of Stalinist thugs like Van Jones is simply a sign that we have indeed arrived at those times.
Anyone who thinks Obama will give up "the public option," or, as I prefer to call it, The New Slavery, doesn't see the big picture.
Because we ARE a tolerant nation, and because we have hitherto been unable to conceive of an existential threat to our Constitution-fueled American Exceptionalism from within, we have allowed this insanity to take root over the last 100 years. And now it is flowering as it never has before; the weed of Marxism has overrun the garden.
Well, I think we have laid down for this Marxist crap long enough. I only hope we don't, as Tytler observed, inevitably trudge back into bondage without so much as a wimper.
And the tea parties and the town halls are good, but they are only a toehold. There are many, many battles to be fought, and as with illegal immigration, it's going to be hard, if not impossible, to unring the liberal bell.
But, one way or another, we have got to take this country back so that the Obamas of the world dare not show their faces in public and his ilk couldn't even conceive of getting elected dog catcher in Peoria.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 2:17PM
Grzmlyk, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. We have to stay wide awake from now on. The b@stard sure has my attention!
We need a leader, and I believe God is sending one. And, we need cohesion.
I'm praying constantly for His help.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 2:23PM
Grzmlyk--one quibble: I see many Ronald Reagans on this blog. Look in the mirror, doll.
This is our time and we have to stand up--we will stand up. We will not lose our country to these thugs, thieves and traitors. To other patriots, I say, "Not on our watch!"
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 2:35PM
Angel: Nice to be hanging around here at the same time you are for once! I usually miss you by hours.
You make an excellent point.
I guess I've just been so disappointed by what passes for Republican leadership over the last several years; yet we seem to produce little Mussolinis on the left with alarming fedundity.
I still can't quite believe that we nominated John McCain in '08. The entire Republican field made me queasy. At one point I thought Thompson was the answer, but he fizzled before I could even figure out his positions.
And so many Republicans turn out to be RINOs. I know some trolls will be quick to poitn out that government grew under Reagan, which is true - but not because he was a fan of big government. It was because the inertial momentum of The Leviathan was already unstoppable even by his tenure.
But thanks to you and others on this site - and thousands of rank-and-file Americans, perhaps we can turn this into a movement of millions that will not be ignored for once. Because that's what it will take. In my fantasies, I see five million patriots marching on Washington.
And I will add to your "not on our watch" with my own "I was NOT born to serve the state!"
Who knows, if Obama gets what he wants, maybe even Jeanine Garofalo will join us!
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 3:22PM
Why? Why bring HER up? I was having such a nice day, too. lol
I understand your disappointment, I'm an idealist, too. But, I'm also stubborn, ornery and enraged!
I know that we can do this, dear Grzmlyk, after all, we are the sons and daughters of Washington, Madison, Adams, Jefferson and Reagan, right?
On a personal note, I am my father's daughter and Daddy will be so upset with me if I don't defend our nation's liberty.
Excuse my prescience, but I can feel a tipping point coming soon--something is going to happen that will crystallize matters for us. I can feel it.
I hope you don't mind that I relate to you in a personal way. We have a lot in common ideologically, and it's comforting to talk to others like me. I don't feel so alone.
God bless you, Grzmlyk.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 4:04PM
Sorry for the Jeanine Garofalo reference.
I just think that, if Obama is allowed to enact his vision, she'll be enslaved just like the rest of us and THEN maybe libs like her would understand that it's not about hating Obama because he's black. It's about the fact that "social justice" may be a nice daydream, but when it's erected in the real world, it is ALWAYS a prison.
As for relating personally, are you kidding? It means a lot to me, Angel! I feel alone too - in the various arenas in which I've toiled in my life, I have always been the lone conservative. I dare not reveal my politics to colleagues and peers because they would ostracize me and it could affect my future (or what's left of it!).
The one or two forays I've made into voicing my opinion have been met with utter hostility and resulted in ugly confrontations. Liberals - particularly the ignorant ones with whom I am in contact - do not understand the way the world works. They are happy to comfort themselves with the hoariest of bromides such as "diversity" and "tolerance" and "caring" without recognizing the corrupt thuggery that lurks behind those soothing words.
At the time Obama was elected, I was dating a woman who voted for him because "blacks are cooler than whites." Well, that and she believes All Things Liberal are Good, and All Things Conservative are Evil. I mean, can you friggin’ believe it? No, it didn't last long. I think it ended about November 7. And yes, she is white. But white guilt, frothed up by historical ignorance and an abiding narcissism, had taken full possession of her soul. She will never understand what liberalism is all about. She will never understand what Obama is all about; and that has nothing to do whatsoever with his skin color.
So believe me, it's comforting for me to talk to you, too.
I hope you are right about us reaching a critical mass. But, given my experiences like the one above (and they are myriad), I've come to fear the worst. And even those who aren't dyed-in-the-wool liberals scare me - perhaps even more frightening is the fickle pendulum that is the general electorate. All those "independents" who seem to decide our elections tend to swing with the wind. They were brainwashed to hate Bush and everything Republican during his eight years, so of course they voted en masse for Obama.
Now they're becoming disillusioned with Obama, but even if he loses this fight - and the many more he plans to wage - should conservatism take hold again, these bobble heads will just eventually become disillusioned with that leadership and bounce back and vote in the next Marxist to run. That's what depresses me so much.
But most Americans, in the privacy of their hearts, really ARE conservative. EVEN the woman I dated! She just can't bear it. But conservatism is REALITY. I do believe that.
It's just that we have become such a wealthy society - as a rule, subsistence is not foremost on our minds when we awaken in the morning - that we have learned to indulge the luxury of entertaining our basest moral vanity; now, with the rise of Obama, so many Americans have decided to enshrine it. Bad idea.
And along with that vain desire to see themselves as having overcome the crass self-interest that is one of the hallmarks of human nature, many of these people crave, above anything else, the approbation of their peers. Hell, even I dare not speak out because of how it may affect my life.
But many people who are just as happy to equate this liberal crap with true goodness are even more reluctant to stand up and say, dammit, I'm tired of being a phony saint! I'm tired of pretending self-interest isn't a guiding force in my life! I'm tired of being TOLERANT of every perversion, every demand, every accusatory finger that's pointed at me. I'm tired of being called selfish because I don't advocate this "from each according to his needs to each according to his ability" balderdash.
There are lots of reasons why we find ourselves in this predicament - our education system being one of the biggest ones. Our young people are absolutely indoctrinated. And there's been so much wealth sloshing around this country for so long, many of these irresponsible, callow liberals have not had to reap what they have sown.
Once they are forced to lie in the bed they've made, THEN I think we will have reached critical mass.
I just pray it's not too late.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 4:36PM
G, You need to be with your 'real' people. You're too smart and sensitive not to have sympathetic hearts and minds around you.
Your perspective is colored by the people in your life, and I sense despondency in your posts. There are many ideological soul mates out here for you: You just need more support.
Be so very glad that your relationship with that girl ended--she was trouble. She didn't deserve you anyway. Look at the hot Conservative women around--they would understand you.
Have you tried social networking with Conservatives?
Two of my older sisters are very liberal and I have a hard time when I'm visiting them--I have to get on my computer and blog with my Conservative friends to keep my sanity. Weird, but true.
It's a strange time right now; it's hard to make sense of it: But, strangely enough, I know things are going to be okay. We're here for a reason.
Grzmlyk| 9.2.09 @ 6:21PM
Thanks, Angel:
I'm of two minds about the "despondency" comment because, in my day-to-day life, I'm a pretty optimistic, upbeat person. Most people who know me think it's impossible to get a serious comment out of me because I joke around ALOT. And a quick wit is perhaps the most valuable tool I have to deflect some of the outrageous comments I regularly hear.
On the other hand, I won't deny that, since the history of civilization is mostly one of tyrannical governance, I believe we are headed inexorably toward that end - whether Obama goes down in flames or not. People who believe in big government are the ones who wind up holding the levers of power. Conservatives who don't live to tell other people how to live are very happy to do their own thing within the circle of their family and friends. Liberals always want to IMPACT society. And that's why I think you wind up with libs being the permanent class of governance.
You don't find too many bureaucrats - whether they're elementary school teachers or CIA middle managers - who vote Republican.
But you are very kind. I don't KNOW any conservatives. I haven't really done the social networking thing, but perhaps I'll give it a try.
BTW, that woman WAS trouble. We've remained friendly, but I am glad things ended very quickly. I don't need insanity in my life.
Again, you are very nice. Maybe I will try the conservative social networking route.
Angel| 9.2.09 @ 7:12PM
Isolation sucks and it can lead to a skewed perspective. I struggle with despondency, too.
Of course you're right about a lot of the difficulties now, but there's also a lot of fun out there, too, and many great people to know and love.
I laugh hard at what some of the AmSpec bloggers post--absolutely sparkling wit abounds--you're right in the middle of it!
Not fair that someone like you isn't sharing your gifts--because you've got plenty. Do you HAVE to stay at your job? It sounds like it comes with a big price tag.
G, you sound like you need to have some fun.
That's it, I'm done; I don't mean to intrude-- just know you're not alone, okay?

~ WHEN THE LAUGH OF $ATAN WA$ HEARD IN THE PEOPLE$ HALLS OF U$ CONGRE$$ ~
THIS OLD WORLD ORDER OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT OF OUR POORER AMERICANS NEEDS ENLIGHTENED POLITICAL MINDS AND HEARTS TO VIEW GOD DIFFERENTLY THEN $$$…. NO MATTER WHAT THEIR POLITICAL PARTY AFFILIATION ???
WHEN WILL OUR WEALTHY ELITE AMERICANS ABATE THEIR ASSAULT ON POORER AMERICANS WITH THEIR MONETARY CONTROL OF OUR IVORY TOWER U.S. CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER ???
THERE ARE NOT MANY MORE DISTRACTIONS LEFT WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FOR OUR WEALTHY ELITE AMERICANS TO HIDE BEHIND IN NOT TAKING PROPER CARE OF ALL OUR AMERICANS IN A HUMANE FASHION !!!
RALPH NADER ATTEMPTED TO EDUCATE AMERICAN VOTERS ABOUT U.S. CORPORATE POWER IN AMERICA AND HOW THEY CONTROL OUR CONGRESSIONAL PEOPLE THROUGH THEIR POCKET BOOK (POLITICAL DONATIONS). * WITHOUT THE DOUGH $$$ THESE U.S. CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS OF THE FREE WORLD DO NOT GET RE~ELECTED TO CONGRESS.*TO STAY IN POLITICAL OFFICE IN AMERICA,ONE HAS TO BARTER YOUR VOTES IN CONGRESS AND REPRESENT POWER INTERESTS IN RETURN FOR THE BUCK$.
POORER AMERICANS HAVE NEVER HAD THE $$$ LOBBY TO INFLUENCE THIS CORRUPT POLITICAL CONCEPT (of horse trading political votes for political contributions) TO ACHIEVE PROPER HEALTH ~CARE OR LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR ALL OUR MIDDLE ~ CLASS AND WORKING POOR AMERICANS.
AMERICAN IVORY TOWER U.S.CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS OF THE FREE WORLD HAVE PASSED FEDERAL LEGISLATION IN WASHINGTON DC TO SPEND 50 BILLION AMERICAN TAX $$$ ON THE INTERNATIONAL FIGHT AGAINST AIDS OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS WHILE THEIR OWN AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE BEING TOLD BY THIS SAME U.S.CONGRESS THAT NATIONAL HEALTH CARE AND PROPER LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR MIDDLE CLASS AND WORKING POOR CITIZENS IS UNAFFORDABLE.
*** WEALTHY ELITE AMERICANS (WHO ARE ONLY 1% OF OUR USA POPULATION) SADLY ALSO CONTROL HOW OUR U.S.CONGRESS SPENDS THEIR BUDGET TRILLION$ AND HAVE OBVIOUSLY FOUND MORE WORTHY INTERNATIONAL CITIZENS THEN OUR OWN DESPERATE AND NEEDY POOR TO ASSIST !!!
~Poorer Americans Nationwide only get 400 million $$$ per year for legal representation allocated them by CONGRESS~
Middle Class and Working Poor Americans are unable to afford proper legal representation in their Civil, Criminal and Family Courts of law all across America causing tremendous hardships nationwide, but these great minds and callous hearts in our American Congress have found others Worldwide more needy then their own citizens who are being falsely incarcerated, wrongfuly executed, losing their homes or apartments, losing child custody or visitation with their children etc
Not being afforded proper legal representation by our U.S. Congress has created a total breakdown of the American judicial system for our poorer Americans because the our U.S. Courts punish all of us little people if we are not assisted with proprer legal counsel.*It is a known fact that our average Middle Class and Working Poor Americans without proper legal representation in all of our American Courts of law lose their legal cases to the better financed who are able to afford lawyers.
Lawyers For Poor Americans is now actively in the hunt for International Countries and Leaders Worldwide to help raise 5 Billion Dollar$ for our slighted poorer Americans who have had their own American Congress turn their backs on their desperate needs in not affording them proper legal representation.
Troy Davis and Mumia Abu ~ Jamal are 2 perfect examples of American citizens who never had proper legal representation or defense investigations afforded them by our U.S. Congressional Leaders Of The Free World in their initial criminal trials in (Georgia and Pennsylvania) who might very well have to pay the ultimate price of possibly being completely innocent and falsely executed in the near future.
These two poorer Americans are among tens of thousands of legal cases nationwide that never were afforded proper legal representation or proper defense investigations at their initial trials……**We the public really have no idea if these men are innocent or guilty until they both are given fair legal representation at their new future trials.
Improper murder trials take place in Third World Countries all the time. *** Why should average Middle~Class and Working Poor Americans in the Wealthiest Country Of The World be treated as if they are living a Third World Life Style ??
This is the first of many www International pleas by Lawyers For Poor Americans for other leaders and countries to help raise the needed monie$ to correct these blatant injustices that have been inflicted on poorer Americans for the last few decades.
Lawyers For Poor Americans has many other written articles that can be viewed with any www search engine by our name or our telephone number.
Lawyers For Poor Americans is a www lobby group of volunteers that sing out about the decades old neglect, abuse and injustices being inflicted on our poorer Americans that have become Crimes Against Humanity issues for the International World Court to investigate.
