Ted Kennedy, RIP

I am from Massachusetts. I am a conservative. So I understand the reaction to Ted Kennedy's death from brain cancer at age 77 on both levels. I hope to have more to say about this later, but for now I'll say this: Ted Kennedy is beloved and earned the love of those who admire him. Ted Kennedy was hated and while I can't say anyone deserves hatred, he certainly earned that too. He stood for many things with which I disagree and his irresponsible behavior led to a young woman's death, without him ever paying the price. Yet he was also generous to those in need both with public funds and his personal commitment to children who lost too many fathers. Both stories ought to be told.

Teddy is up, close and personal with the Big Judge now; maybe he was truly contrite before he died.

Hope so for Teddy's sake. RIP

Well, I'll prepare myself for the onslaught of Kennedy hagiography in the media. If Congress passes a health care bill in his memory, we will all suffer for his passing. I don't want to speak ill of the dead, so I'll say this: May he rest in peace with all of his older brothers.

Eric Cartman| 8.26.09 @ 5:58AM

Dude,

He should have died trying to save the girl he killed driving drunk. He was and will remain a cowardly, drunken, degenerate slob! Say Hi to Hitler for me, Ted!

Eric Cartman| 8.26.09 @ 6:14AM

Sorry, I forgot that he cheated on tests and his wife, who I couldn't care less about. I mean, she married a drunken, cowardly degenerate, so what did she expect? Say Hi to Stalin for me, Teddy! You two should get along swell!

Kitty| 8.26.09 @ 6:58AM

"his irresponsible behavior led to a young woman's death"

His behavior may have begun earlier in the evening as irresponsible, but it quickly became felonious.

For all his generosity (with public funds) for others, he was a heartless killer on July 18, 1969, whose only objective was to save his own political career.

You can shed tears for him if you want. I'll be thinking maybe now Teddy K will finally answer for Mary Jo.

Well...the "Lying Liberal " is finally burning in hell!

Good riddence, you feckless bastard!!

I am dreading the reckless bile that some have and will poor forth here. Senator Kennedy was not my idea of a man to be feted or imitated, but he has gone to the judgement and may God have mercy on his soul.

Matthew 5:43-48 (New International Version)

Love for Enemies
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment...that sorry excuse for a man should have spent time in jail for manslaughter sparing us from the liberal "lion". good grief and
Good Riddance!

Faffnir| 8.26.09 @ 8:47AM

Now, now. Let us speak no ill of the dead, however deserving.

He is answering for his sins. Let that be his epitaph. I will offer no other.

Brian Kirkenbaum| 8.26.09 @ 9:00AM

Well said, Jim. Well said.

Teflon93| 8.26.09 @ 9:11AM

Along with Mary Jo Kopechne Ted Kennedy undoubtedly came face-to-face with the millions of unborn children whose slaughter he sought.

The common thread in Kennedy's life was that there was no one and nothing whom he would not sacrifice for personal political gain.

Ted Kennedy is no longer of this world, and like all Sinners must now face Judgement. No one should ever wish Hell on another person. We should ask Christ to show him mercy and request the intercession of the Blessed Mother and all Holy Angels and Saints on his behalf.

Réquiem ætérnam dona eis Dómine; et lux perpétua lúceat eis. Requiéscant in pace. Amen.

William| 8.26.09 @ 10:23AM

Because this ticket is NOT going to be easy to fix . . .

I too was not a fan of Edward Kennedy.

For all he did, and didn't do, Lord have mercy on his soul.

Spicy Joker| 8.26.09 @ 11:40AM

I wonder if the Dead Kennedys will play at Ted's funeral?

Solo| 8.26.09 @ 12:01PM

To clarify...

I seek not to judge Ted Kennedy for his alleged sins of the flesh. His drunkeness, debauchery, adultery, deceit, false witness and on and on and on......
It is not my place to judge him on those things.

But......

I will not and cannot bring myself to ask for forgiveness of evil....of purposeful spiritual wickedness.

Ted Kennedy was a feckless statist. He sought to elevate himself and the State above the laws of nature, of God, as was intended for this great nation.
The result of this treachery was the theft of our wealth, the fruit of our labor, that is taken from us with promise of dolling it back to us under "The States" control.

He sought to increase his own power by stealing from those of us who labor to make our own lives better (and that of our families and communities)...and dribbling out that wealth to his perceptions of 'the needy' in such a way as to keep them needy (for his charity) in perpetuity for the sake of his own power.

He jealously defended the slaughter of millions each year and...drunk with the blood of innocents, continued to raise his blood soaked goblet in a toast to his own power as a result.

He worked relentlessly to press the boot of "The State" upon the necks of a people who were born to live in liberty as given to us by "The Creator". And that boot will continue to press upon the necks of generations as yet un-born.

He worked relentlessly to hide the face of God from the public while muting His word and His truth so as to elevate "The State" to the throne of supreme worship.

All this...he knowingly did while securing himself in a life of luxurious opulence and priviledge at the expense of those he sought to oppress for the sake of his own power.

If this is not the definition of evil, then evil doesn't exist on the earth.

Yes, the Bible emplores us to love our enemies. It does not, however, ask us to love evil.

The bible also relates to us God's promise that "The candle of the wicked shall be snuffed out". That, in the final judgement, the wicked shall be cast into a "Lake Of Fire".

If it is (instead) true that the wicked shall be granted eternal paradise or...that death is simply slipping into nothingness, then why bother seeking to be good and to be righteous in this life?

Why not, instead, seek the quick and easy earthly reward that the wickedness and evil of the Ted Kennedys of the world can provide?

I lament that a fellow human soul has been consumed by wickedness and abject evil.

I pray that God's promise of the judgment of the wicked is true.

That’s a terrible thing for American…and the world; we all lost a great man and also a long legacy of family patriots and supporters to the American people and politics. We will miss you. Condolences to the family.

I have been reading blogs all day. Solo put it best. Ted has caused a entire nation to sin, therefore he will receive the greater condemnation (book of James)

william| 8.26.09 @ 5:45PM

All you Kennedys seek is Fame and Sex and Greed and Riches. You're all in Hell where you belong you Fair Haired Sons of Bitches!

PAUL G. JONES, Sr.| 8.29.09 @ 10:34AM

Thank God and Greyhound he’s gone!

Ted Kennedy was most likely not a Christian. If he was, we are to have no part with the spirit(s) of wickedness. Wicked you ask: I know God’s Word (The Bible) is True; God will judge the wicked. Hell just went up a few degrees.

Ted Kennedy, a/k/a “The Chappaquiddick Assassin”, “Dead Drunk Ted”, “Lifeguard Ted” ) to reiterate the abve blog comments, He:
Killed the innocent
Was a coward
Was a degenerate
Was irresponsible
Was a public thief
Was a liar
Was a bastard
Was a sorry excuse for a man
Sought the slaughter of the un-born
Was an adulterer
Was a false witness
Was reckless
Was a Statist
Was relentless in being against the public(s) face of GOD
Was the Definition of Evil
Caused the Nation to sin
He was a seeker of Fame, Greed, Sex and Riches

Enedra| 8.29.09 @ 12:52PM

Does anyone know if Ted Kennedy participated in the wicked debauchery we all know about right up til the last days of his abilities?

Redemption is open to all. What we never know is who all is open to redemption. The actions of most of his adult life are indeed worthy of condemnation.

But can those who socialized with Kennedy and would have witnessed his behavior say "he never changed; he was the same ol' Teddy till the end"? Or would they say "Something changed. From "X" event till he died he was a different man than I ever saw."

People across the land may never know the answers to these questions. But one of two things are certainly true. He either repented and found redemption and thus will be in Heaven or he did not and will burn in Hell.

We really have nothing to say or do about it either way.

john| 8.30.09 @ 12:52PM

Ted lambasted Robert Bork because he was a pro-life Supreme Court nominee. Not a good portfolio to have into the next world.

In our daily intercourse, we may easily see the word "TS" in conversion tool field, such as MPEG-2 TS Video, HD .TS Video, Video_TS, Audio_TS, TS, M2TS, MTS, etc. Can you identify them? What's your TS Format?
Generally speaking, the MPEG-2 TS or shortly TS is one of the popular video file format specially for some digital camcorder. M2TS or MTS is a Sony high definition video file type.
