Many people believe, erroneously, that old people can't figure
out new technology. This was something that came up while I was
at RightOnline.
Does this really make any sense? While there may be SOME
physiological changes that make it harder to "teach an old dog
new tricks," they can't be too significant given the number of
older, tech savvy people that are out there.
Personally, having done technical support, I have come to this
conclusion: Old people tend to be bad at learning new
technology because they believe that they're supposed to be bad
at learning new technology. That's it. . . .
Oh, and being a married geezer of 49 myself, I don't mind being
called "old." Ms. Espinosa, on the other hand, lists her Facebook
status as "single," and she would probably prefer that a
handsome bachelor like Mr. Hawkins call her "darling." Or
"sweetheart." Just not "old."
You youngsters will have to excuse me now, but this blogging
stuff gets me so plumb tuckered out I need a nap.

Geezers Unite,!! for sure. As an old geezer, circa 1934, I
qualify. My first experience with the key board came in the days
of DOS Files, remember those? Line edit, character by character
deletions, and lots of finger numbing strokes to get a file
created. Link edits, compiles, JCL, DL, and even Fortran 4 as
basic stuff to know before you got an interactive terminal.
Nowadays, thanks to Intel and folks from silicon valley, we can
express our angst directly to the angst giver....
I digress. Old Geezers still do have the skills and experience to
drive the Left nuts. Also, we have the time, grit and persistence
to stay with it, till the dawn breaks. Note the Day Logs of the
older bloggers, lurkers and others, almost all in the middle of
the night. That is when the Old Geezers rule. We have to, our
bladders call us too often.
