Remember Rep. David Scott (D-Georgia)?

He’s that liberal lawmaker who made a fool out of himself by angrily attacking a constituent of his who dared to ask a healthcare-related question at a public meeting. A few days later the lawmaker tried to deflect criticism over his temper tantrum by suggesting race had something to do with the national healthcare debate. Scott’s got a nasty temper. When I used to be a financial reporter covering House Financial Services Committee hearings, I got to see his outbursts from time to time.

And now a spraypainted swastika has suddenly appeared at Scott’s district office in Smyrna. Scott is a victim, apparently, but who is the perpetrator?

I wouldn’t be surprised if an investigation ultimately revealed that an ObamaCare supporter put the swastika there in an effort to paint the opposition to socialist healthcare as racist.

That’s the kind of false flag operation Saul Alinsky would approve of, especially when a massive chunk of the U.S. economy was at stake. Weekly Standard blogger John McCormack also suggested hours ago that this might be a fake hate crime.

The timing on this seems all too convenient.

Kind of like the liberal clown, Rep. Brad Miller, who claimed "hundreds" of democrats received death threats last week over health care. What happened to his stupid accusation?

I've known for a long time that liberals were scum, but it's amazing to see so much of their 'scumminess' on full display.

Caroline| 8.12.09 @ 12:14AM

Nazi Pelosi did it.

Lionel| 8.12.09 @ 12:17AM

Why is it racist to point out that Rep. Scott is a Nazi? He's behaving like a fascist liberal, so it makes sense to me.

What about people who work, but jobs do not cover their helathcare? So much to offer?
Is compassion so bad?

Nothing, Conrad. As long as we're not forced to pay for it. How easy it is to be altruistic with other people's money.

Daisy| 8.12.09 @ 1:31AM

Conrad, name me ONE time the government provided the best service available. You can't because huge bureaucracies are incapable of this degree of excellence.

It's not even about money for me, it's the tightening grip around our throats, the death of freedom that will result from this massive intrusion into our lives.

Surely, our citizens can work out something that will help other Americans without destroying those of us who are happy with our health care. Where is YOUR compassion for us?

Naivete is dangerous, possibly deadly, when it comes to huge, and growing government. Follow blindly at your own risk.

MainStreet | 8.12.09 @ 1:44AM

Although deficits are endangering us, a much bigger threat is the ceding of our liberty to the government. Government in the car business, financial and health businesses is illegal under our Constitution. The question is, will the Supreme Court uphold the challenges against the Government or will they fold like they did when the bankruptcy laws were not followed in the auto bailout.

Sandra | 8.12.09 @ 6:37AM

They know how to accuse us of what they themselves are very handy at.
Aulinsky teachings are alive and well and liveing in our government in the name of Obama, the Clintons and the rest of that ilk.
Take this administration down in 2010 and 2012..

Kitty| 8.12.09 @ 6:52AM

Daisy asked: "name me ONE time the government provided the best service available."

Answer: Politicians' health care (not to mention all their other freebies for which WE pay). Y'know, the health care plan that none of them will give up for the crappy one they'll force all of us into.

...

Frank St.Clair| 8.12.09 @ 7:21AM

Politicians health care are provided by PRIVATE insurance companies at our expense, my friend, but your point is well taken. The current administration wants to impose Veterans Administration style health care on us all. Maybe they're trying to ensure our wounded soldiers get as good a level of care as we citizens get, eh?

John| 8.12.09 @ 8:40AM

Google "Columbia University" and "noose" to see a similar use of this tactic for political gain.

Bob| 8.12.09 @ 8:47AM

So, Vadum... You used to be a reporter? I thought that reporters based their reports on facts. Do you have proof that this was done by a left winger?

I didn't think so. This is the kind of remark that makes the Republican party weak and seen as extremists.

KevlarKevin| 8.12.09 @ 9:05AM

Good ole fascist Bob. You're such a fu**ing idiot. The guy says right there in the blog he doesn't have proof and is speculating.

Bob| 8.12.09 @ 9:12AM

So, Kevin, I'm just speculating that you have a pointy white hat with eye holes cut out at home. After all, it is just speculation. I don't need proof. It is proof enough that you are anti-Obama. Right? And yes, since I disagree with you I must be a fascist. Hmmm....

Bob| 8.12.09 @ 10:29AM

Bob
As usual pithy comment on a posting followed by a predictable screed letting us know that the article makes Republicans look extreme or racist or both.
So is Vadum the official spokesman for the Republican Party? Bob don’t you find it even a little bit suspicious that this pops up after the esteemed congressman shows his backside. It is certainly not the first time something like this has been traced back to supposed victim. If it goes to form I wouldn’t be surprised if someone on the congressman’s staff finds a noose on a file cabinet or a nearby scrub in the next couple of days. Or maybe even an interior door knob to make it all the more threatening.
I really do know who did this or why but in the current climate I am skeptical of everything I see and read.
Have a pleasant day.
The original Bob

The American people( espeicially the ones at town hall meetings are pretty smart and know the deal--they can recognize a false flag when the see it. But what is that Chinese or korean stuff about ?and the ASFASDF ?

Hey, asdf:

臺灣的中華民國是中国人民的唯一的合法政府。 投入那在您的管子和抽它,共產主義。

We don't CARE about SEO or your tiger valley garbage.

As for the spray-painted swastika, I bet you a dollar to a donut hole it was palced there by one of Osama bin Urkel's Fistapo political whores. Perhaps the mother who pimped out her daughter to The Purple Lipped Punk at his town squall yesterday did it. More than likely, it was one of the societal lampreys infesting this congresswhore's orifice who did it.

Oh, and "Bob" above, the one on his knees, mouth open, waiting for communion from Osama's fly: Ku Klux Klansmen are DEMOCRATS. Nazis, communists, and fascists are ALL animals of the political LEFT.

Idiot. Read something else besides your daily talking points memo from Rahm "Tutu Slippers" Emmanuel.

bropous| 8.12.09 @ 11:03AM

And of course, Giving Libbie Conrad Fishtapo above whines that simply because someone has a job, they DESERVE healthcare insurance.

Connie, baby, loons like you are responsible for poor families having to pay more and more for food because some brain-dead high school dropout dragging cans across a scanner at Piggly Wiggly is convinced that their highly prized skills and years of can-dragging training qualify them for full health benefits. That's why I buy my groceries at WalMart.

People like little Connie above don't realize that gaining health insurance is part of the PERSONAL INCENTIVE to work harder, do well in your job and get good references, and STRIVE for a better job and better standard of living, for them and for their families.

Conservatives believe in equality of OPPORTUNITY, Connie Fishtapo. Lie-berals believe in equality of OUTCOME. Lie-berals have a heck of a lot more in common with Lenin and Stalin than they EVER had in common with Mason, Washington or Madison.

The American Democrat Party, the party of the lazy, the indolent, the parasitic. Best friends of America's worst enemies since 1860, fopreign and domestic.

tonypal| 8.12.09 @ 11:08AM

Bob:

Matt, who now writes commentary here at TAS, simply wrote "I wouldn't be surprised if an investigation ultimately revealed that an ObamaCare supporter put the swastika there in an effort to paint the opposition to socialist healthcare as racist. " As an American exercising his first amendment rights, he is certainly free to speculate on the genesis of the spray painting.

In all seriousness, is it really that far fetched to think this could have been done by an Obamacare supporter? When you consider the fact that the main tactic of the left in this (and in other policy debates) is to demonize opponents by labeling them as extremists, racists, nazis, etc., it would the perfect tactic to produce "evidence" of said nazism .

Will Collier | 8.12.09 @ 12:10PM

I live in David Scott's district. The satellite office referenced here is about a mile from my house. I just drove past it on my lunch break (noon Wednesday), and the defaced sign had already been replaced with a brand-new one. It's almost like they had another one in the back room, just in case…

Smitty| 8.12.09 @ 1:58PM

The sign had served it's liberal propaganda purpose, so they got rid of the phony evidence before it could be checked out. Hmmmmm.

Bob| 8.12.09 @ 2:02PM

The problem, tonypal, is that unsubstantiated allegations does not bring anything of value to the discussion and only serves to rile the lemmings who might believe it.

Just make an unsubstantiated allegation about Sarah Palin, like "her marriage is on the rocks" and see the vitriol that follows. By the way, that came from the famous father of the child, Levi.

Lonnie| 8.12.09 @ 10:24PM

Would you like it if your family was publicly eviscerated, Bob? Maybe it's okay with you if your 14 year old daughter had been used as the butt of a rape joke, but not all of us are as weak as you.

You would put stock in a money grubbing, trailer-trash drop-out and unwed father. Defines what you stand for, perfectly.

Richard Baker| 8.13.09 @ 9:22PM

Lonnie:
I'd love to see the "brave" liberals have the guts to say these vile things about his family in Todd Palin's presence. Anonymity is such a delightful dodge, isn't it?
