Unions on Mob Disruptions, Part II

As I pointed out earlier, the AFL-CIO has been crying crocodile tears about mob tactics being employed by opponents of nationalized health care.  This is, perhaps, the first time in U.S. history that unions have opposed intimidation and violence.

In fact, it's worth looking at the way California unions responded to educators who filed suit against unions misusing their (mandatory) dues.  It will probably come as a shock to most of you, but rather than listen respectfully, the union members did their best to disrupt the press conference that featured teachers who were brave enough to face down the politically powerful unions backed by equally powerful state politicians.

On the bright side, the vocabulary of the protestors appeared to be quite limited.  Probably the result of being educated in government schools.

Your links showed no violence or intimidation. They also showed no townhall! Rather, they showed a press conference held in a public area, which teachers (hilariously described as "toughs" in the video; I guess chanting makes you (a) tough) responded to with free speech of their own. And the anti-union teachers didn't go there to have a dialogue; they read prepared speeches and asked the press for questions.
To the analogue-challenged at AmSpec, this somehow is the same as disrupting townhall events (where one asks questions and hears answers) to make sure no one ever says anything and to destroy the whole event. Somehow, the anti-union props were able to make it through their speech notes - and get filmed - and ask for questions - but only fro the media. So, they accomplished what they set out to do. The Democratic congressmen whose townhalls have been attacked were unable to have a conversation with their constituents thanks to the GOP. I also missed the "toughs" touting signs with Nazi references, devil horns and anti-union teachers being hung in effigy, as the charming base of the GOP has shown us recently. Perhaps Doug doesn't have any video of that?

Incredible.

The bile, hatred, and resentment on the right is just incredible.

What you know about American history, about Unions, about Nazis -- about just about anything -- could fit in a thimble.

GLORY| 8.6.09 @ 7:56PM

The right is goosestepping into oblivion.

Bill| 8.6.09 @ 8:05PM

Dear Mr. Usurper:
I consider myself a Patriot to the tune of being totally against everything you stand for. I know you “hate” our Country and you prove it on a daily basis. Your new “snitch” program is just another example of your desire to silence a growing number of people who are starting to turn against you.

Mr. Usurper, I hereby turn myself in. I decided a long time ago I will fight you and your liberal facist beliefs until the day I die.

Your health care program is pure evil. In the long run your government plan will kill millions by refusing to provide coverage to those citizens in our society whom we treasure the most: our parents, our grandparents and our senior citizens that worked their entire lives to provide for and protect our beautiful Country.

With little respect,

This is an email that has been sent to your friend Obama's goosestepping Weirmacht office in DC.
If you think that asking Americans to rat out other Americans isn't right out of the Nazi play book you are beyond idiocy!

Tailgunner| 8.6.09 @ 9:14PM

Obama is a dictator. His thugs are acting like brown shirts scheming to strip us of our rights and our liberties.

We're going to make ourselves heard. Don't like it?

Screw you.

2010!| 8.6.09 @ 9:20PM

Yeah, all those gray-haired older men and women and those young women wearing tank tops, pushing their babies in strollers and carrying hand made signs are goosestepping into oblivion.

You fascist liberals have lost your minds and you're going down. Hard.

The sleeping giant has awakened and it is not happy.

2012!| 8.6.09 @ 9:24PM

What I know about American History is that we patriotic Americans have always rejected fascists--Nazi, Liberal or Union, doesn't matter; all three are thugs.

GROUNDPOUNDER| 8.6.09 @ 9:25PM

At ease, flyboy.now that we've called each other nazi's,what's next? How about a debate on the facts? After all ,We are fellow american's .

Miss Nancy!| 8.6.09 @ 9:31PM

Sure, pounder--shove your phony platitudes as your Dear Leader Obama threatens to put us on his enemies' list.

Go pound sand, troll.

John Brown| 8.6.09 @ 9:58PM

Boy, I see Rush's factless and paranoid rant claiming Democrats were Nazis (a classic example of the defense mechanism known as "projection) really got you people fired up. Bet you can't way for the lynch mobs to form.

You people are whackos. Just the sort the Nazis used to gain power.

Your stupid, gullible, uneducated, and seething with resentment.

The word "conservative" no longer applies. You're just reactionary thugs, threatening violence and disruption.

It's a good thing most Republicans won't follow you into the wilds of this neo-fascist zaniness.

tailgunner| 8.6.09 @ 10:16PM

'Threatening' violence?

Uh, did you forget that Obama's Justice Department intervened in a civil rights voter intimidation case they had ALREADY WON?

Remember the Black Panthers outside a Philly voting precinct intimidating people? One of them was waving a POLICE BATON and calling people 'crackers' who were about to be 'ruled by the black man'.

One of them was ALSO a card-carrying DEMOCRAT voting official; an authorized poll watcher.

Obama's flunky Eric Holder GOT THEM OFF on civil rights charges by STOPPING the case.

Oh, and who said 'I want you to get in their faces'?

HINT: It wasn't Rush.

Now who's 'threatening violence'?

And who's 'stupid'?

Nazis were National SOCIALISTS.

Basil Plumley| 8.6.09 @ 11:07PM

We have gone from "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism" to "Dissent against bad liberal ideas is intolerable".

I find it ironic that one of the posters complaining shares the same name as an American terrorist. I am sure what he knows can fit into a thimble.

John Brown| 8.6.09 @ 11:27PM

The Nazis divided people using fear and scapegoating and demagoguery.

They loathed everything liberals stand for, and the feeling's mutual.

You people are an irrational mob; you'll believe any accusation made of Obama or his administration, no matter how far fetched or absurd.

Parker's Harper Lee allusion was right on target. You're hearing the dog whistle and sitting up to beg.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! John "Boy" Brown/Jeremiah/ LibReader has hit the blog.

If anyone is wearing kneepads, it's you, John Boy.

You got your butt kicked on the Sarah Palin/Perverted liberal blogger and Joker/Obama Poster threads, threw an F-Bomb and morphed once again.

Welcome, loser.

HUffington posters to wander in and do their

Nazis and Liberal/Progressives support eugenics through abortion and euthanasia. How convenient that ObamaCare includes both.

Who are the REAL Nazis?

haw-haw-haw!! that's rich.

What's a matter, Scarecrow? Afraid of a little fire?

Yes, I admit it; I'm an irrational mobster--and I'm proud of it. Get the torches and the pitchforks, fellow AmSpec bloggers.

I find it funny that liberals are so concerned that the majority of the country doesn't want this health care "reform", so they are hiring people to go to the town hall meetings. (For those of you that don't know, Union members usually get paid to go to these types of meetings, the same as they get paid to picket). It amuses me even more that they say the grandmothers, parents, school teachers, etc are like nazis while exercising thier right to express thier opinion. I would just like to point out though, at least the people against the reform don't have to be paid to be there.
