When this thing started gaining momentum I tried to convince him to craft a retraction and apology.

More precisely, the advice I gave him was to "shut up", urging him to realize that we all have skeletons in our past that could see the light of day--particularly given the realities of life in cyberspace.

He obviously relished the idea of playing David to Palin's "Goliath" and was urged by his readers to carry the banner of anti-Palinism into battle.

I warned him their advice could damage him severely.

Now his family has to pay the price for his stupidity.

Hopefully, this will just fade away before his wife and kids take a beating also.

Sarah has not threatened to sue the author of the blog "Palin Deception, which is dedicated to exposing the allegation that Bristol is the mother of Trigg. (Yes--there was an announcement in December that Bristol had Tripp, but no one saw that baby until February.) Why no suit in the case of this blogger?

The author of the blog speculates that Sarah never will threaten to sue because the burden would then be on her to prove she is, indeed, Trigg's mother. And she can't.

Skeptical? What's your opinion of why she hasn't sued this blogger?
