About Those Crazy Democrats

Lots of conspiracy theories abound, but if you read or view the usual news sources, you'd probably assume most of the conspiracy-minded folks were on the Right.  Turns out it ain't so.  Observes David Freddoso:

Twenty-eight percent of Republicans believe President Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States, and 30 percent are "not sure," according to this poll.

But before liberals begin to smirk, here's a poll from 2007, in which 35 percent of Democrats said that President Bush knew in advance about the 9/11 attacks, and 26 percent were not sure.

So if 58 percent of Republicans are living in a delusional fantasy world because they are out of power, then 61 percent of Democrats were doing the same thing until just recently (perhaps they still are). It's a clean, apples-to-apples comparison with a clear lesson: People get a bit kooky when they're out of power, Democrats about 3 points kookier -- which is probably within the margin of error.

I missed the latter news at the time.  Wow.

Nearly two-thirds of Democrats thought it was possible that George W. Bush knew about 9/11 before it happened?  Now there is a really wacko theory and crazy bunch of people!

More self-hating repubs. "If we hate ourselves a little or disparage the 'birthers' maybe the MSM will like us more!"

The difference is there was a MOUNTAIN of evidence that GWB DID NOT previously know of the attacks. If memory serves the libtards tried to point to some memo in a briefing from August 6, 2001 as "proof."

Now, where is the same mountain of evidence in support of the usurper's claim that he was born in Hawaii? I'm sorry but "because Robert Gibbs said so" doesn't pass the smell test. How did he go to Pakistan in 1981? If not the BC then can we see his Hah-vahd records? Why not?

Here's one, why did Maj Stefan Cook have his orders to Afghanistan revoked after he challenged the usurper's Constitutionality to serve as POTUS? Is the usurper just going to revoke the orders of soldiers who challenge it?

So no, this is far from an "apples to apples" comparison. But good luck in your never-ending (and never-happening) quest for the MSM to like you more.

You are funny, Bandow. It couldn't be that the CIA and FBI warned the Bush administration about a pending attack by Obama and worried about them going to flight schools?

Yeah, the CIA and FBI under Bush were just a bunch of wackos....

Gee, I wonder why people might think that Bush knew about potential attacks... Hmmm.....

But the birthers are based in more fact, right? You see, an African had a secret plan to install a non-citizen in the Presidency. After the birth in Kenya, they placed birth announcements in a fringe state like Hawaii. They did this because they knew that in the future, let's say in 2001, that Hawaii would go paperless and destroy old documents. But then, here's the good part, after they place that ad, they wait for 40 some years until their son runs and wins the Presidency. They must have had some really good Taro card readers.

Bandow, are you crazy or something? When Tyrrell said that he thinks Obama is a natural born citizen the crazies still didn't believe him right here!!!

To set the record straight, I just think the Bush White House was incompetent. I'm beginning to believe that ALL politicians, Democrat or Republican, are incompetent, by the way.

I think it was something like 70% of Republican voters thought Saddam had something to do with 9/11-- people actually died because of that conspiracy theory that was promoted on web sites like Am Spec; supposing prior knowledge of 9/11 is, on the other hand, a healthy practice.
