Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) gave a moving speech on the Iranian crackdown, which has recently gotten lost in the Beltway shuffle. (Hat tip: The Corner.)

I've seen Congressman McCotter on Red Eye; he's exceptionally smart, principled and funny. Whatever he's running for, he's got my vote.

The House could use many more legislators like the gentleman from Michigan, and I thank the citizens of his district for electing him. He is intelligent, he is learned, and he has a wit as dry as the Sahara. I too first learned of him while watching RedEye, and I was simply amazed that the House contained anyone at all of such caliber.

McCotter should be a senator--at least. I think he's terrific!
