The GOP's Sotomayor Shuffle

My take is up at the Guardian. You can rarely count on more than a handful of Republicans to stand firm at a time like this.

Good article. If we won't attack her for saying that one race is genetically superior to another, what WOULD we attack her nomination over?

Sadly, the fix is in. Some of the Republicans already admit they've given up, while others will grimace and growl awhile before taking a dive.

The Republican senators gave up long ago. They kept telling conservatives "wait for the hearings". Then their first words once the hearing started was that Soto would be confirmed.

It is sad to have a one party system. We can either vote for Democrats who will confirm justices like Sotomayor, or vote for Republicans who will also confirm her. I wouldn't be surprised if half the Republicans vote to confirm her.
