Michael Jackson Fans to Rep. Peter King: BEAT IT!

Fans of the late Michael Jackson wanna be startin' somethin'.

They consider the critical remarks of Rep. Peter King (R-New York) about Jackson to be really, really bad.

King's tongue became a razor, in their eyes, and the congressman has to answer right now.

An anonymous fan created an ad hoc group, Michael Jackson Fans AGAINST Peter King, at the liberal fundraising website, ActBlue.com, which describes itself as "the online clearinghouse for Democratic action." Here's the pitch from the site:

Congressman Peter King is at again, this time defaming the late Michael Jackson, calling MJ a "pervert', 'low-life", and a "pedophile". As Rick Sanchez noted on CNN, Michael Jackson was acquitted of the charges against him. Peter King ought to let Jackson rest in peace, and focus on the needs of his constituents. As we mourn the loss of an American legend, political grandstanding is not what we need right now!

It's a black and white issue.

Here's the clip from Congressman King:

Comments

Elnora Williams| 7.7.09 @ 10:56AM

My mother always taught me not to speak evil of the dead. It's obvious Mr. King needs some home training. And, yes, he's looking for publicity in all the wrong places. I'll bet he didn't have anything to say when all the hullabaloo was poured in Elvis Presley's direction.

deby schroeder| 7.7.09 @ 10:58AM

Peter King... what's wrong with the republican base hate , dishonesty, evil remarks while hiding behind being religious. They and he don't get. Michael rest in peace you're the bigger man here there and everywhere.

Megan Williams| 7.7.09 @ 10:59AM

Pete King a racist? Yeah, yeah, yeah!! Why does patriotism from republicans always seem to come with anger, frustration and hatred

Audrey Turner| 7.7.09 @ 11:01AM

Peter King is a disgrace to Congress, is this the calibre of idiot who is responsible for representing his constituents. He should be sued by the Jackson family for defamation. Micheal Jackson was acquitted. He should keep his prejudices to himself.

devika| 7.7.09 @ 11:03AM

Well King of Crap (PETER KING), Michael Jackson is a global icon and he is the "KING" and now everyone is mourning his death but when you die, only your mother who give you birth MIGHT mourn your death. You should not be in a Government Office you brink SHAME to your Government

Steven| 7.7.09 @ 11:06AM

Sad and desperate attempt to draw attention to himself and his agenda by making an obvious controversial statement about Michael Jackson during this time of his death. Let's not take focus away from the fact that this individual lacks any kind of class by thinking it's ok to slander someone after their death and while their family grieves.

mark| 7.7.09 @ 11:09AM

Peter is a fool, and a fool indeed, I thought he should no better, but he is a fool. Micheal spend his life giving to the poor and caring for the needy what have you done low life congressman. Who care about you if you don't like the coverage go and commit suicide.

Ahn O'Nymous| 7.7.09 @ 11:11AM

I don't appreciate MJ as much as everyone else. Yes, he had talent, but he was a little too weird for my tastes.

On Pete King -- his heart is in the right place; we should give more respect and honor to our soldiers -- serving, returning vets, and fallen -- than we give to Jackson. Jackson was an icon, no doubt, but the men and women that defend our nation deserve far more recognition for the sacrifices they make each day. That being said, King is still using his posterior as a head cover. The allegations were never proven, no matter what anyone's gut told them, so let's let the dead rest in peace.

Laurie| 7.7.09 @ 11:13AM

After watching a video of your preformance yesterday, I was Apalled. I am a White Woman with Three White Children, I grew up with Michael Jackson as did my children. As a public servent you should be ashamed of yourself, and your self rightous ways. Michalel is to be celebrated and you sir are to be pitied...

Michelle Jones| 7.7.09 @ 11:14AM

Michael Jackson has died. If the media and the Peter King types have no respect for Mihael at least have some for his family. This man, Peter King, he's a mean spirited idiot and not worthy of discussion. My heart goes out to Michael's family.

Renata Gray| 7.7.09 @ 11:17AM

Honestly, I believe, the media is one source behind
Michael's death. It's all about getting a story out...even if the information isn't accurate. And who's behind the media? People like Peter King.

Darkseid| 7.7.09 @ 11:18AM

Mr. King... Mr. King... Mr. King...

Who are you? I have been a citizen of New York for over 14 years and yet have never heard of you. Do you feel it important to try and make headlines over the death of an icon? I'm sorry that Michael Jackson had and still has more of an influence than you, and you're a politician. Still that gives you no right to attack him. Let Jackson rest in peace.

Donna| 7.7.09 @ 11:20AM

FINALLY someone who speaks the truth. He is SO right. This is not a black or white issues, or a religious issue folks. This is a human issue. Michael Jackson WAS a wonderful singer/songwriter, dancer, performer, but he was a pedophile. If it's wrong for me to feel the pedophile in him clouds everything else, then so be it. If it wasn't Michael Jackson who died, but your average "Joe", everyone on here would be saying "good riddance"

L. Ross| 7.7.09 @ 11:26AM

Wow. I mean Wow. I had no idea that there were so many rabid MJ fans on the American Spectator.

While I won't go as far as congressman King, I will say that MJ is a washed up has been who hasn't put out a decent song or video in almost 20 years. Like most artists, his later work paled in comparison to hi earlier work. He squandered his enormous wealth in a spectacularly bizzare fashion, and over the years physically transformed himself from a handsome young black man to looking like a skeletal white hag. Ignoring the repeated allegations of pedophelia, he still wasted his life and his fortune indulging himself in a bizzare extended childhood including a personal zoo and amusement park. Sadly, I don't believe he received any personal benefit from his fortune, as it only allowed him to further indulge his huge proclivities towards the bizzare.

The world has lost an amazing dancer, a good singer, and a human curiosity whose public, profligate waste of money, talent, time, and public love was simply unparalleled. MJ was a man who had it all and simply did not know what to do with it.

I, for one, do not miss him. If there is anything to mourn in the passing of MJ, I feel it is simply that in spite of his wealth and talent, his life was an utter train wreck.

Akin Akinola.| 7.7.09 @ 11:28AM

I have no respect for him because right to his face Nassau county is wasting. I lived in Nassau county for 14 years until oct. 2008 when I could not take it any longer. Nassau county is about the worst county in New York State. I wonder what Peter King does in Washington all these years. Peter king is an intellectual Illiterate who is suffering from mouth diarrhea. He is a racist who represent those who still live in the sixties.I wonder how he managed to graduate from law school when he does not know how to interprete or believe in the rule of law . My question to him is would Micheal have had custody of his children if he is a pedophile. This should be a simple question for him as an attorney to answer but might be the toughest question for him to answer. Peter King knows he will never attain or have the fame Michael has because he is a loser. I wonder if he listen to reactions about Michael's death from people all over the world.I would expect an adult like him to respect a family who is mourning their love one.I wonder if Peter King is conscious or sensitive enough to realize that Michael has three little Children who might not yet be able to comprehend the magnitude of their lose. It's a shame to have senile peolpe like him in the congress of this great Country.

Vicki| 7.7.09 @ 11:28AM

I am a republican myself but I in no way condone what was said by this close minded individual. Even if this is his own personal opinion about MJ, he needs to keep it to himself and take into consideration the pain and suffering his family, friends and fans are going through. I loved MJ as an entertainer and a humanitarian and never believed or accepted for a second the slander and accusations that he had to endure. There was only one true statement made by Peter King and that is that recognition needs to be given to the heroes that are so often overlooked. So sad that he is so closeminded that he could not see that MJ would totally agree with him about that and he (MJ) would be one of the first to step forward to help make a change. You've made a change in my life Michael.........God be with you. You will be missed always.

Sean| 7.7.09 @ 11:30AM

Darkseid, I am not surprised that you have never heard of Peter King. Most Americans have no idea whats going on in their government. They prefer to spend their time focusing on American Idol, Michael Jackson or some other stupid celebrity.

notmypresident09| 7.7.09 @ 11:34AM

What a bunch of losers! Worshipping a dead pedophile. How many of you are parents? How many of you would have allowed your child a sleepover with the king of perverts? He admitted to liking to sleep with boy in pajamas. He paid tens of millions in hush money to families of sleepover children. You dont pay tens of millions to people, when you are innocent. You are the same people that were appalled when OJ was found innocent. Your the same idiots who were cheering Manny Ramirez coming off a steroid supension. Peter King had guts the say what others are thinking.

Eric Damon| 7.7.09 @ 11:35AM

What was the point of his statements? Why attack a dead man, allegedly in order to praise our fighting men and women? I appreciated Michael Jackson for his music and his ability as an entertainer, because there have been few...if any...that measure up to him in that area. As for whether or not he was a pedophile, we have no real evidience of that, just our own opinions. Once he stood trial and acquitted, that was the end of the story in a legal sense. He was not guilty in the eyes of the law, and public representatives should have better sense than to attack a person that cannot defend himself. If Rep. King were so upset, why not launch this broadside when Jackson came back here to prep for his scheduled tour dates? Could it be that there was no media coverage to be had earlier, but plenty after the man died?

And to Donna; you are probably right that if the average "Joe" had died after being acquitted of a crime, under sensational circumstances no one would have cared. But the fact is the death of a major celebrity is news, much more so than any "average Joe" and sadly more than the death of any individual service member. It may be sad, but it is the way the world works. But even at that, what Rep. King did and said was beyond the lines of decency and cannot be defended. And not to call anyone a hypocrite, but I would lay a dollar to a dime that Rep. King was one of the many who was up in arms about the Reagan movie that was pulled for its portrayal of the man when he could not defend his reputation; so what makes his actions here any different?

Kim| 7.7.09 @ 11:39AM

It’s scary to think that a lawmaker is making these statements. I mean he really was acquitted. That should mean something- if not to the average Joe then at least to people in charge of our country. Unfortunately, this is one of the reasons that the republicans lost power. Is he trying to do the right totally in?

As far as the coverage goes, it is a bit excessive but I think the majority of the media is excessive. Usually they go for the sensational instead of stories with substance. That being said this is just business as usual for the media.

Rose DeGironimo| 7.7.09 @ 11:40AM

This so called man (Peter King) will one day answer for his hatefulness and inconsideration of making such heartless and unfounded remarks about Michael Jackson! People like him broke Michael's heart and caused him deep pain...but couldn't break his spirit!! PTL! Michael Jackson far surpasses all and anything Mr Peter King and those like him, could ever hope or wish to be and should be pittied as a fool with no direction! Shame on you Mr King! You need to offer up an apology for making such unfounded and evil remarks..I am quite sure you have brought attention to the person whom you truly are within yourself (spirit) and have to wonder how someone like you maintains a position as a congressman...thats a big part of whats wrong with this country....having people like you in office! God bless you Michael Jackson, may you rest in peace and thank you for all the love and sincerity you have shown us all! You are so loved now and always! Let us remember to take the log out of our own eye before we try and remove the speck in our brothers!

Michelle| 7.7.09 @ 11:42AM

I guess PETER KING is JEALOUS since Michael Jackson is always on TV....don't worry PETER KING wait until you DIE then maybe you can be on TV too just MAYBE....since i don't think your too POPULAR like MICHAEL JACKSON THE ORIGINAL KING OF POP...WE LOVE YOU

John Mollaghan| 7.7.09 @ 11:49AM

So Rose, paying millions of dollars to families to avoid damaging testimonies, hanging a child out of a window, etc. are to be encouraged....If someone of less fame tried to interfere they would face prosecution for witness tampering...The problem is we live in a world that venerates fame over real accomplishment...the war hero, the life saver, the self sacrificer helping in their community...and that was his point. To end your comments with the quote about logs and eyes, how does that square with your comments? as for those claiming racism, are you claiming his behavior should be acclaimed? the way he butchered his face, the behaviors that at least rise to the level of inappropriate around children? On the acquittal, when the LAPD officers involved in the Rodney King beating were acquitted, did you accept that verdict? remember the riots and death that followed? Interesting...I dream of a time when we judge a man by the content of his character...

Bey W| 7.7.09 @ 11:55AM

RIP MJ......This man knows not what he says. We know one thing.....we he pasts on.....who will know, who will care..............Not Guilty means just that............Worldwide Coverage......so you jumped on the coattail so folks worldwide could see you. See just what type of things Michael had to deal with........A law maker..........Again.........millions to mourn your passing.....NOT!!

CSX| 7.7.09 @ 12:17PM

What kind of law maker does not have faith in the American Judicial System? MJ was proved not guilty on many counts. Peter King - a piece of trash that should be forced to resign!

regina smith| 7.7.09 @ 12:24PM

look into the person who points a finger. a man found inocent in a court of law in our country. does not deserve to be dogged when dead. any office holder in this country who does not respect the rights of americans. should be forced out of office. any of them.

FJ| 7.7.09 @ 12:43PM

Michael Jackson was a washed up DISGRACE of a human being, at best. A filthy child molesting piece of filth at worst. Given all of CONSEQUENTIAL news of the last few weeks, that the networks and Congress (see House Resolution, Michael Jackson, http://michellemalkin.com/) have focused their efforts on rebranding this freak as some kind of American hero speaks volumes of our shared degeneration. Go Pete King, screw all of you who parade around as members of the MJ fan-club!

Betty L. Pettus| 7.7.09 @ 12:51PM

This man makes a clear case of defamation of character and basis for a liable suit.
Unless this man knew MJ personally, he has no first hand knowledge about what MJ did in private. Our system of justice cleared MJ of all charges but this man wants to use his own brand of vigilante justice to convict him.
Not to disrespect any other race, but this kind of mentality is what contributed to Black slavery, Black lynching and false imprisonment of so many Blacks in this country.

richard szathmary| 7.7.09 @ 1:08PM

Perhaps, just perhaps, it's a bit better to attack this particular dead man than to romanticize him beyond belief. Whatever his talents, he was a total weirdo whose behavior with young boys would simply not be tolerated by most sane folk while he was alive.

And now comes the Reverend Sharpton, along with his fellow race-based hucksters, to attempt to make it some kind of test of "genuine" patriotism and commitment to diversity that one can overlook all the weirdness and inappropriate behavior.

If he belongs now to the ages, it is also the distinct responsibility of this age, when MJ's memory remains immediate, to face up to his dark side as well as to remember his genuine talent. Representative King may not have quite put it this way, but he was at least headed in the right direction with his recent remarks. We are not burying, say, a Pope out in LA today, but rather a very clearly warped person indeed. Diana Ross and Elizabeth Taylor are both welcome to their tears over him. But others with a more balanced viewpoint should surely be equally welcome to their profound dismy and skepticism.

linda(mad as HELL)| 7.7.09 @ 1:11PM

YOU SOB, HOW DARE YOU SAY WHAT YOU SAID! YOU WILL BE IN THE FACE OF GOD ONE DAY AND AFTER YOU ARE GONE PEOPLE WILL TALKING ABOUT YOU AS WELL I JUST HOPE SOMEONE WHO LIKES YOU WILL TAKE UP FOR YOU. AS FOR NOW YOU ARE ON EVERYONES SH_T LIST RIGHT NOW. GOD BLESS THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

George Bishop| 7.7.09 @ 1:13PM

to CSX- Peter King should be forced to resign because he said some bad things about MJ? You are an idiot!

mark c| 7.7.09 @ 1:55PM

I have a recurring vision of a Youtube video with a tearful metrosexual lad pleading"leave MJ alone!".

Tomeka| 7.7.09 @ 2:00PM

WOW!!
I never thought I would see this day...:(. So many people with so many opinions of another. I must admit that some of the comments I am surprised to read and some I am not. I am not a real huge fan of Michael Jackson but he was in fact the BEST ENTERTAINER to ever live. He surprised us everytime he made music. Peter King, I believe, didn't realize what he was saying when he said it or else he would have realized that he was being a complete Asshole!! He has damaged his own career with his remarks. Michael Jackson is gone and has made more money than any of us and Peter King will ever make in our entire lives on this earth. Yes, Michael Jackson may have changed his appear and befriended some people that he thought were his friends but we all do and sometimes befriending some people can get your character damaged just like Michael's was.

The reason he paid the family of the accuser was not because he was guilty but because he wanted to keep his image intact. Example- I know a family right now, (white family, I am black), that is battling to save their image. Their daughter hit a homeless woman and killed her. The daughter went home and said nothing about the accident until her parents when out the next morning and her car was missing. Her car was towed by the police department. The investigation has been ongoing but the parents of the girl sent the homeless lady's mother a check for $100,000 thinking this would get the mother to not prosecute the daughter. The police cannot prove it was the daughter due to the dark tinted windows on the vehicle and the eyewitnesses are not sure if a woman or a man was driving the car. They are only going on the fact that the car is registered to the girl. Needless to say, they are trying to protect their image and their daughter by paying off the lady's mom.

With that in mind and since Michael was acquitted of all the charges, that means he should be able to keep his good image. Unfortunately, that's not how society works. We are quick to judge before we even know the truth. This would be a fact in Michael's situation and the family that I know as well.

In closing, Peter King will have to think about what he said for the rest of his life as wounds can heal but words will always be an echoing memory. Also when it's time for his re-election or re-appointment, he'll be begging and pleading with society just like the slaves used to do when the Master wouldn't let them go. I didn't want to take to a black or white thing, but some of these comments asked for it.

Goldwater Girl| 7.7.09 @ 2:31PM

That's right folks, MJ was just one of those good guys who enjoyed having a few boys over for a sleepover. Remember, he did admit this much in interviews and depositions. And so what if they enjoyed a good ole glass of Jesus juice. Get a grip, people. I liked Michael too, especially when he was a handsome black man. He got way weird the last 20 years.

Leigh| 7.7.09 @ 2:39PM

Wow! And I thought our liberal trolls were crazy. Scary folks out there--Obamabots.

Truth| 7.7.09 @ 2:45PM

Give me a break! Michael Jackson was guilty as hell. Over the last 15 years he had paid off several families to go away after he'd acted 'inappropriately' with their young sons. It's common knowledge in Los Angeles.

Only a fool would argue otherwise.

Vargo| 7.7.09 @ 2:57PM

Who cares if MJ was the King Of Pop and whether or not he was a pedophile and a pervert, I am tired of always hearing about Michael Jackson. He was an inspiring and talented musician, but it is time to let his death go. And of course, we get to hear about him for a bit longer because of the doctor giving him some medication illegally. Rep. King had the balls to say what most people wanted to say and he knew that he could get on TV because he is a congressman. And now we are going to have to bail out California because they paid for his memorial service, what a great investment...

Flower Power| 7.7.09 @ 3:14PM

Michael Jackson was a black man? Who knew?

Jason| 7.7.09 @ 3:31PM

I suggest that everyone who is disgusted as I am with Peter Kings comments email him. He is a disgrace to this country. He has disrespected the dead and everything that the U.S. is about and stands for. He has provan he does not believe in our justice system and that he is ignorant. He is what is wrong with this Country. He should be removed from his seat. I wrote him a email showing my disgust. Michael Jackson has done more for this world than this turd has ever done or will ever do. MJ has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charity's. His impact has had a profound effect on many peoples lives. Something King will never accomplish. I hope that Mr. King has his time when he is accused of something and is found innocent but is still called guilty. Michael has given and given all his life just t0 be disrespected and crapped on and yet was always graceful and got back up every time he was shot down. He is finally at peace. For every ignorant A-hole there are hundreds of people that appreciate MJ for what he was and not what he was portrayed to be by the media.

The link to contact Congressman King. Let him know he is a disgrace to this country and as a human being.

Anne Conrad| 7.7.09 @ 3:50PM

After watching Representative King , I feel that at least one person has their priorities straight and I finally feel there is some hope for this country.

JO| 7.7.09 @ 4:42PM

What can a Canadian say...just another redneck republican full of hatred. Really, when rednecks like Peter King open their mouth; it sends the message to the rest of the world that unfortunately; the USA is full of dumb-ass ignorant "BUSH CLAN" rasicts republicans!

Hey Peter, did you learn that from your redneck racist mother........respect the dead....you fat piece of crap!

ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT YOU LOSER.

PS. I am not even a MJ Fan

donna hardy| 7.7.09 @ 4:54PM

Michael Jackson made more of an impression on the world than any other individual. Peter King is such a low life, no respect for the dead whom cant defend himself. Obviously he does not believe in our judicial system number one, Michael was a brother, a son, a father, a friend and an icon and idol to many. Peter must be jealous because he will never get the attention that Michael has gotten just as no one ever will. I think he needs to be ousted, he was not elected into office to bash citizens of the US or anywhere else. He is such a low life. I am white and I sure hope Sharpton gets on this band wagon and addressed this loser.

Richard| 7.7.09 @ 5:26PM

As a white, educated professional that used to vote Republican (until Bush Sr.) and read the American Spectator regularly, I am truly disgusted by the comments of Peter King (not to mention Bill O'Reilly and Fox News) and some of the ignorami that support him. While I was never a huge MJ fan, I did like his music and felt that he was quite talented. Having said that, he presented a positive message to the world of love, peace and unification (akin to Jesus, for you religious types).
Michael suffered from the "Peter Pan complex", otherwise known as borderline personality disorder in psychiatric terms. Up to ~6% of the American population is afflicted with this horrific condition, and usually begins when the victim is abused or sexually molested during their early development. It often leads to confusion with sexual identity, fear of abadonment, self-mutilation, self-loathing, drug abuse, getting stuck in childhood (as MJ was) and tragically, suicide. These individuals also become highly altruistic, due in part to their self-hatred. As a trauma-induced mental illness it is highly under-diagnosed and not often well understood by mental health professionals, however, progress in treatment is being made. It is known that MJ's parents were highly abusive towards him, which resulted in his problems. He was not a pedophile or predator, as many try to label him, but a man who became very maladjusted due to his early upbringing. Other famous people who suffered from this condition included Princess Diana and possibly even G.W. Bush (who had other mental illnesses as well). I have a family member who has recovered from it, and it wasn't easy!

So, I hope that Michael can rest in peace, Peter King and Bill O'Reilly burn eternally in Hell, and that some of you readers reconsider your opinions & judgemental attacks on this very debilitated, but kind person.

twillis| 7.7.09 @ 5:54PM

Me and my partners are putting up $200k to anyone who plans to run against Peter King. Not only do we pledge the funds to anyone who runs against him we will raise another $500K from friends in the industry.

CBlack| 7.7.09 @ 6:12PM

Look Mr.King, When You break MJ's record for giving and supporting charities people might take you seriously. Second MJ was never convicted of any wrong doing and what you did was slander, I just pray that No-one in your family gets in a postion to talked about they way You did MJ. As far as what MJ has done for the world, If the REP party listened to his songs maybe we would not be in the postion we are in now. And it is very Obvious you have ZERO knowledge of American or African American History. MJ was A ICON and historical figure in civil rights and at least he saw in people what we should all see.......no color , no religon, no creed , just people a lesson MJ's fans know and MJ haters need to learn

The Caribbean Perspective - It is truly amazing to watch you people in action. You so proudly declare land of the free and home of the brave...take a good look people this is what your free brave press has done and will continue to do for you.
You ask about where is the rest of the news..it's out there if you would but only look...but of course no...FYI your press is not the only out there and you could have found your news if you wanted to..like the rest of us in the world did.

King talks about who and what you should be honouring..look what he was doing..using the very same media he's trying to vilify..why wasn't he as a congressman doing just that..horning your teachers, firemen and the like? By the way it is the very same media who devote broadcast time to honour the fallen heroes of this war you are fighting. And if they don't do it enough who's fault is that? If you are all so unhappy why not do what you do best..lobby and boycott these networks...the truth is you only care about your heroes when it convenient to do so..like July 4, D-day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day..at least that's how you look to the rest of the world. Be honest how many of you were thinking about them as you watched your fireworks and ate your burgers?

King never really wanted to argue with the press..if he did he would have confined his argument to that...What is truly sad thought that you will all go back to your lives and never think about your "heroes" until another catastrophic event hits your nation and your media is there to give you non-stop coverage of it.

Janet| 7.7.09 @ 8:48PM

SHUT UP ALL OF YOU MICHAEL JACKSON IDIOTS!!

Anne| 7.7.09 @ 10:20PM

Now that this circus of the MJ coverage is over, give it time and what Rep. Peter King said will gain respect and acceptance for the truth that it says and all the denials will end.

MzMaDeA2U| 7.7.09 @ 10:56PM

This merely shows that no matter what a jury or a court of law says an African American man is still guilty in the eyes of some men regardless. I saw his rant and thought, "I wonder where he was when Elvis died? or John Lennon?" And then I wondered how incensed he was at the coverage given to Princess Dianah? Then I wondered if the fact that coverage of the Pope's death bothered him. Since some of these were not even citizens of the US, did he find that coverage overbearing? To him MJ was a man who was accused of a crime and though he was acquitted of all charges in a court of law in Mr.(?) King's mind, just as he was in many other's, he was found to be guilty. Does King know that MJ cried because he was forced to settle out of court rather than go through another trial? I am sure he does not. Better yet, I am sure he really doesn't care. He asked the question, 'Would you let your child be in the room with Michael Jackson?' My answer is not just yes, but HELL YES! Personally, I despised Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan but I gave them both the respect they deserved in their homegoing by not saying anything negative about either of them, merely because of their stature. I don't say that Michael Jackson was a perfect man. There has only been one of those to walk on earth and there have been questions raised about Him through the years and His name is spelled J-E-S-U-S. What Michael was, however, was an Icon to some, a father to his children, a son to his parents, a brother to his brothers and sisters, an uncle to nieces and nephews, etc., but most of all he was HOPE to many African American children in the 1970/80s. Yes, many of our children looked at that little kid and said if he can do it so can I. And a lot of them did. And they, PETER KING, deserved a little thing called R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Today, my adopted great-grandson looked at the TV and said, "I be like Mike Japsom." And you know what? Those words brought tears to my eyes. Mr.(?) King in your homegoing I hope noone mars the passing by interjecting negatives into what should be the time that your family and friends deserve to grieve your passing if they be so inclined to do so. Mr.(?) King you might see Michael Jackson as but a bush by the side of the road. We see him as the tree from which the root extended so the sun could kiss it and the rain drops encouraged it to start that bush. With the right nurturing and cultivation that bush just might be the most beautiful tree you've ever seen. Be careful how you cast those stones. They sometimes come back to you as boulders.

short and sweet. this man is a hater pandering to his constituency and like-minded thinkers. this politician voted to send our men and women into harm's way. thousands have died because of his actions. how many deaths are michael jackson responsible for?

one more thing. MJ is getting the coverage because his story brings in ad revenue. the network that does not cover it will lose viewers and money. i am an American currently overseas and outside the US, MJ is a global icon. no one else outside the US knows who Peter King is and they don't care. for King to belittle the significance of Michael Jackson, and not to acknowledge his humanitarian contributions and his impact on pop culture of which electronic media plays an indispensable role, speaks to his own ignorance

Lola| 7.8.09 @ 12:00AM

There's a time to hold your tongue. King should have attacked Al Sharpton. That will get him so feedback. Plenty of attention there.

Michael| 7.8.09 @ 1:10AM

I expect no less from a Rethuglican like Pete King to dance over someone's grave.

Ezz| 7.8.09 @ 1:23AM

You wonder why the Republican party is heading into extinction. Peter King and his Republican party made it illegal to view the body of dead American soldiers and now he is reversing himself. Grand old hypocrites; Republicans cannot full us all anymore.

Anne| 7.8.09 @ 10:46AM

With people in this country getting very uneasy about the course of the direction this country is heading, when the media plasters so much on MJ, and not on the REAL EVERYDAY ISSUES, payback could come in the 2010 midterm elections and a possible conservative comeback.

Stan| 7.8.09 @ 12:02PM

I am so sick and tired of this Republican hypocracy. Only God can judge a man.
We the people know that Michael Jackson had a heart gold unlike Rep King who has a heart of hate
and spills out his venom like the true snake that he is. Every dog will have his day. If he considers himself a Christian he needs to get on his knees and ask God for forgiveness. Thank You Michael for all that you have left us to cherish. RIP

Anne| 7.8.09 @ 12:49PM

The TRUTH is that both major political parties are in TROUBLE. One is on a FEARED power trip, the other, a SHELL of itself. Also IRONIC is that a dead singing star gets worshiped like an idol by the news media, while a living governor who has CONSERVATIVE principles either herself or her family members gets trashed by this same news media. America is in TROUBLE.

Tootsie| 7.8.09 @ 2:29PM

Anne, God bless you. Try to keep your voice of sanity alive among all these freaks--if you don't go crazy first.

blupheonix| 7.8.09 @ 3:35PM

Ahn O'Nymous:"On Pete King -- his heart is in the right place; we should give more respect and honor to our soldiers -- serving, returning vets, and fallen -- than we give to Jackson. Jackson was an icon, no doubt, but the men and women that defend our nation deserve far more recognition for the sacrifices they make each day. "
Ummm... NOT!! Those people DECIDED to sign up, to DIE! And to KILL! WTF are they defending you from? False flag attacks? Non existant WMD's in Iraq??? You Americans are SO brainwashed in this "march to war" crap. Good news tho, the American empire is crumbling around you! You won't have the money for war anymore! So bring the troops home! RIP MJ

Anne| 7.8.09 @ 5:04PM

Thank-you Tootsie and God Bless.

First of all, when I was a child, I was a fan of a young Micheal Jackson and the Jackson 5. He was my peer in age, 10-11-years-0ld. But once "Thriller" came and went, Micheal Jackson started to get stranger and stranger after that to the point I could no longer see him as the real Micheal Jackson. In my eyes, the "real Micheal Jackson" died in my eyes years ago. What I do remember is what he was and what could have been.

kill him now!

nova| 7.16.09 @ 2:40PM

If Michael Jackson was truly a pedophile, then how come, out of the thousands of kids who went through his home and spent time with MJ over the years, many of whom are adults now, only two count them, two kids - with proven uscrupulous parents - ever made a claim of pedophilia against Michael? A true pedophile can not control his urges around kids. If MJ was a pedophile, according every psychological profile available, there should be hundreds of complaints against him.
I think his daughter, Paris, gave more weight to the type of decent person MJ was more than any newspaper tabloid could.
Look at the facts, MJ haters.....

THE TRUTH..WHAT REALLY HAPPEND| 7.29.09 @ 4:35AM

All you dumb Idiots calling MJ as a pedophile, you are dumb as fucking clueless seagulls, if MJ was really a pedophile, don't you think there would have been some sort of proof that he molested these children? rewind to the 1993 allegations, you dumb idiots just love to think that MJ paid hush money, but if you people were smart enough to analyze what really happened, you would have realized that Mr. Chandler was quick to react in accepting the hush money, FYI he was 64 thousand in debt and the lying fuck needed money. Seriously, if a shifty fool ever molested your child, would you accept hush money and sweep it under the rug? I think not! if a fool ever molested my child, I would make sure his filthy ass ended up behind bars for as long as the fool breathes, not take hush money, this shows how dumb you MJ haters think, he was proven innocent and thats the bottom line, so build a bridge and get over it you prejudice shameful American fucks! Peter king rot in hell you dirty filthy scumy fuck! R.I.P The King of PoP!

I have no respect for Peter King. In fact, this video makes me want to claw his eyes out. He is disrespectful in every sense, and I'm just glad Michael Jackson isn't around anymore to see these hateful things. He was found innocent, get the fuck over it, and accept it, because it's the truth! Mr. Jackson, you are the better, bigger man here and anywhere. Rest in peace.
