I've got to agree with Phil.

The Palin presidential campaign slogan that comes to mind:  "Vote for me and I might serve three years, four if you're lucky!"  Not exactly a winning appeal to the nation.

Another one bites the dust.
Looks like republicans picked the wrong week to give up drinking...

You mean, kind of like Barry Soetero ... who started his presidential run the minute he set foot in the Senate? What happened to his six years?
Just wondering.

It looks like the Romney machine has sent out the memo to the Beltway conservatives---attack!

Like so many rotten apples, the not-so-conservatives begin to rise to the surface.

I smell the stench of elitism emanating from the bowels of AmSpec once again. Spare us, please, weak willeys--we are already quite aware of your disdain for Sarah Palin.

It's all about karmic payback. She reaps what she sows and now will be considered a 'quitter' by the american people.

She's attacking our free press and our constitutional rights (while throwing a typical diva temper tantrum - suck up, dearie - you play/you pay).

It's so typically hypocritical to do everything within your power to bait the media from parading your kids around to each whistlestop and then deriding the press for covering them to then going into hiding in order to cover your obvious lack of worldview and shortcomings. Then when she thought the coast was clear, she consented to 2 or 3 pressers of her 'choice' where the stunningly trick question happened to be 'what do you read?'. huh?

It's so typicaly hypocritical that now she's blaming that 'elite media' for outing her at every turn. It was fine when she was the media darling for a few weeks, wasn't it?

Cut 'n run, indeed. No possible political future left now that her entire life is one filled with quitting everything she ever committed to from 5 colleges in 4 years, mayor of wasilla to be lt. gov, the petro ethics board and now her governorship.

Someone said she quit after serving for 2 years and I beg to differ. She spent an entire year of that campaigning for veep which distills it down to 1+ years - of which she served half of it while cooking, cleaning, and taking care of his kids at her Wasilla home. So how much did she REALLY SERVE the good people of Alaska? Paltry little.

Keep it up, stupid troll--the more you trash Palin the more we want to support her.

Oldefarte| 7.6.09 @ 1:21PM

Doug, I have to respectively disagree with you. Alaska can and will survive without Palin; and she was more of a hendrance than a help there, due to the salious attacks on her and her families personae. Additionally it was costing Alaska much money to defnd her against those bogus smears. She is doing Alaska a favor by leaving. Also she has done more to improve that state in 3 years than any other previous governor has done in one or multiple terms. She needed to move on, both for her and Alaska's benefit!!!!!

Sometimes as I read the various critiques of Palin I swear I can actually smell the fear of the writers. If she is so insignificant, uneducated, such a lightweight, why do you fear her so much, why must she be attacked so vigorously? Are you writing to convince yourself or those that might support her?
Palin may or may not have a bright future in national politics; time and events will reveal that. Looking across the landscape of anointed prospects we could certainly do worse… the cesspool mud pit game we have allowed to replace political discourse has driven from the field most self respecting individuals who might have an interest in serving.
We need to take back our process and there by our country. The buffoons on either side have perfected the art of misdirection to an art form.
We need candidates dedicated to Individual liberty, limited government, adherence to the founding principles and the constitution. Experts can be hired for the minutia of individual policies.
On more thought on Palin, lover her or hate her is it not refreshing to for once find a politician giving up an elected office rather than trying to change the rules to keep it forever?

Great post, hermit!
