From time to time on this blog I've tried to document boneheaded
statements or various bungles occuring under President Obama's
watch that would have been have been used, in the Bush era, to
make the case for him being utterly incompetent. Two examples
worth noting today.
The federal government mistakenly made public a 266-page
report, its pages marked “highly confidential,” that gives
detailed information about hundreds of the nation’s civilian
nuclear sites and programs, including maps showing the precise
locations of stockpiles of fuel for nuclear weapons.
In other news, Obama said, "if you actually took the number of
Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in
the world,” which as Andrew McCarthy
details, wouldn't even be true if you used more generous
estimates.
Wasn't this guy supposed be bright and intelligent?
.| 6.3.09 @ 4:05PM
And this coming from someone who spent some of his growing up
years in the World's actual largest Islamic country. What a
moron.
Pete| 6.3.09 @ 4:18PM
I wouldn't be surprised if the first gaffe was on purpose.
Richard Baker| 6.3.09 @ 5:51PM
As memory serves, when a B-52 carried nuclear weapons in a flight
up the East coast, some time back, weren't there some General
officers and Colonels who had to retire or were reprimanded? Mind
you, this was IN the aircraft and no one was in danger. Now,
because of the Messiah, this recent incident is not worthy of
great concern, it seems.
The man's actions and those of his his underlings are NOT in the
best interest of the country. How's that Hope and Change working
out for those who drooled at voting for Obama?
Robert Chapman| 6.3.09 @ 6:46PM
I hope our president becomes aware of his shortcomings, to date,
before its too late. We probably won't be lucky enough to have a
"do over" if he screws this up much more. Keep an eye on
inflation while you're at it. Hang on over the next 18 months.
I laughed when various pundits like Bill O'Reilly continued to
ooh and ahh over Obama's 'brilliance'. I never bought it--the
guy's just a devious huckster.
…up this stuff and for being a dolt. And for saying you’re a Christian. Because if indeed you are, you are about the most bumbling Muslim impersonator we’ve yet to see. American Spectator Imagine If This Happened Under Bush By Philip Klein on 6.3.09 @ 2:44PM From time to time on this blog I’ve tried to document boneheaded statements or various bungles occurring under President Obama’s…

What boneheads like Klein don't get is that Bush wasn't ridiculed
because he ofwords like "misunderestimated," or "Bring it on" -
it was because he NEVER got it right - everything he touched
seemed to fail. The posting of documents to the web is stupid -
but has nothing to do with Obama, and the Muslim statement was,
IMHO, one of reaching out to a mistrusting people - a rhetorical
flourish similar to "land of the free and home of the brave."
That the right is still smarting over dingbats like Bush and
Palin, and are too obtuse to understand why these people are
ridiculed as dopes, that's because folks like Klein and the
hyper-partisan (and rabid hysteric) Andrew McCarthy are dopes
themselves... But keep trying...
Everyone - One term for this anti - american president.
Let's make up our minds that it starts now.
No more Obama.
As for the cowardly press - surprised no one reads your
newspapers?

Why, how rabidly partisan, extremist, hysterical, over-the-top
insane to contradict Obama and assert that the U.S. is not one of
the largest Muslim countries in the world!!
Davet| 6.4.09 @ 4:16AM
After working for the government for 30 years, I just do not buy
the thesis that someone "accidentally" posted a list of US
nuclear facilities and their purposes--not even government
employees are THAT stupid: this was done for a specific
reason...and what might that be, Mr. Obama?
Crusader| 6.4.09 @ 7:31AM
Davet, Now it will be easier for the muslims to know which nuke
sites are best for blowing up.
On the news last night saw a nice little video of a muslim AQ
recruiter talking about how he needed a martyr to sneak across
the Mexican border with 4 pounds of anthrax to kill 330,000
Americans. Also on the video? He talked about allying with (wait
for it) "white supremacist militias" because they're
anti-government too. However there are different types of
"anti-government" and I think AQ members ad white supremacists
are at opposite ends of the anti-govt spectrum.
When I heard it it just didn't make sense. Muslims bent on islam
taking over the world allying with some white supremacists?????
In what alternate universe would this happen? Now, what DOES make
sense is for an attack to happen and it getting BLAMED on "white
supremacists" or of course the ever-popular "right wing
extremists."
Something bigger is going on here folks.
Aaron| 6.4.09 @ 7:38AM
I'd like to know what's the source of the first report. I used to
work in intelligence and there is no such classification as
"highly confidential." There's "confidential," "secret," and "top
secret," with various caveats to all of them, but those
modifications appear AFTER the classification, not before,. They
are usually abbreviated and non-sensical to someone not familiar
with them. Putting "highly" in front of the classification is
redundant and brings this report's validity into question.
Aaron| 6.4.09 @ 8:01AM
Okay, I actually read the NYT article, which it seems no one else
on this blog did. This document was being prepared for release to
the International Atomic Energy Agency, a branch of the U.N. The
IAEA was going to use that informatioin to update the U.S.'s
nuclear profile report. Some gov't database worker accidentally
posted on the GAO's website. This is about the same as someone
releasing a movie script before the movie comes out. The
information was going to be published, but probably not for a
year or so.
The article said that the report only detailed civilian nuclear
facilities. Most of this information is likely available through
open sources, but is conveniently organized in this report. So I
guess it would make it easier for terrorists to plan out an
attack. But if they were too lazy to find out that info before,
they're probably not very effective terrorists.

"Okay, I actually read the NYT article, which it seems no one

.......Of course they didn't and neither did Klein by the sound
of it. You forget the purpose of this blog and most of Klein's
postings is not to give a realistic accounting of facts or a
situation but find material to attack the president over any
pretext however trivial. This can then be picked up by many of
the folks who hang around here and they can bloviate about
muslims, Obama's lack of intellect, or whatever other idee fixe
or paranoias they may harbor. It's like drug taking, it makes you
feel better for a short while but doesn't change anything outside
of yourself or harm anyone other oneself.

So the guy gives a 55 minute watershed speach on Muslim/American
relations that was broadcast on TV globally... and THIS is what
the American Spectator's spending its time "reporting" on?
Jebus... y'all are pathetic. It's like an Onion article.
"Local partisan hack finds small factual error in 55-minute
speach. Focuses on it exclusively."
This is what happens when the press falls in love and abandons
it's traditional watchdog role.
The Press's attack dog to lap dog conversion will be the Dems'
undoing. They will get sloppy and go to far, they always do.
Their incompetence will become so glaring that even the benumbed,
muddled middle will no longer be able to ignore it.

time before the electorate realizes it.

It's not Obama's incompetence that gives me the willies--it's his
Marxist takeover of the Banking and Auto industries. Oh, and his
intention to destroy health care. I don't think he's particularly
bright, but I do think he's a true believer--in Marx.

of confidence (speaking of Obama) unless you have 1) never

neophyte--and he will be the last one to discover this fact.
