WashTimes on Cheney

Here's what we at the Washington Times had to say today about Cheney. The question is, why can't our cowering congressmen who supposedly hail from the right make the case even half as effectively as a (wrongly) unpopular former vice president?

God bless Dick Cheney. I've always had the deepest respect for him and his entire family. Such good, honest and strong people. We have been blessed as a country to have him at President Bush's ear these past eight years. That's the first good decision George W. made -- selecting this knowledgeable patriot as his VP.

His speech was pitch perfect. He loves the country and admires its heroes. Such a contrast from the current president who seems to dislike his country (by his tearing it down overseas and increasingly here at home, both politically and economically) and seems to think those who defend America border on the criminal.

Such a contrast. Thanks for pointing us to the Wash. Times editorial. Terrific.

Cheney destroyed the Bush Presidency and the GOP. He brought in the NeoCons that hijacked our foreign policy and launched a war that never needed to be fought. Now we're stuck with Obama

The quicker Cheney fades away the sooner the GOP can begin to rebuild.

Quin and the WT are correct concerning our "cowering congressmen", but I'll go a step further. Mainstream American voters were "cowering" in November of 2008, by installing Obama as a NICE, HARMLESS [FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN] PRESIDENT. Americans were disgusted with the war, and collectively decided to vote for CHANGE. Well we all know that that change was substantial to the left, and we're stuck with it until 2012. Republican congressmen and candidates need to grow a backbone and start going aginst these Democrat-radicals, not just on war matters [as Cheney has done] but on domestic issues as well. Obama's modus-operendi is I'M IN CHARGE, YOU CAN'T STOP ME, SO GET OUT OF MY WAY! Well Republicans might not have the votes to stop him, but they can effectively argue for reasonable policies and build their case for 2012. So far, I'm disappointed in their efforts regarding same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quoting myself (heh) frm another article comment.

The political Waxmans of the world simply set themselves above the rest of us. They certainly won't be riding bicycles to work.

This whole scheme is simply another grab for power over our lives and productiveness.

These jerks simply cannot win this fight...once this "law" goes into the streets.

I wrote a comment the other day here at amspec simply reminding us that if the independent truckers across this country just get eaten up with taxes and fuel costs, they could decide to park their trucks...FOR ONE WEEK...and watch the American cities begin to starve.
You and I both can name a lot of similar bottlenecks in our economy...where stoppage for even a week would have the politicians scrambling for repeal...or dodging their home voter paint-ballers (smile)

THIS LAW WILL BREAK THE POLITICAL CAMEL'S BACK

Personally I'd love to see Bush 43 call Obama out by stating: "I authorized the waterboarding, in fact I ordered it. Stop obfuscating and indict me if you have the stones."
Failing that, Cheney strikes me as having the stones, and by doing it he could force Obama off this fence he loves to straddle.

Just a note to thank Oldefarte for his repeatedly kind comments about my columns and blog posts. Your compliments are very much appreciated, good sir!

Quin, my words may be kind and complementary, but your words are TRUTH, and thanks to you and others [especially at periodicals such as AS, Newsmax, etc], we conservative readers are granted a LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS LIBERAL TUNNEL. Additionally, there was an excellent article in the Christian Science Monitor recently concerning our beloved New Orleans' rise from the Katrina ashes, if you care to read same. Take care!
