Maybe I’m not such a fan of the Washington Times’ reporting any more. Just look at how they intro their story today about the passage of Waxman-Markey Cap n’ Tax bill out of committee yesterday:
President Obama’s plan to arrest U.S. greenhouse-gas emissions took a historic step Thursday as the House Energy and Commerce Committee passed a plan to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions and establish a marketplace that would allow companies to buy and sell the right to pollute.
A “right to pollute”? If that’s the case then just wipe all humans and mammals from the planet since we “pollute” every time we exhale (CO2). Talk about adopting the talking points of the environoiacs.

The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our culture.
It won’t take long for conservatives to scratch this presidential wannabe off their 2008 scorecard.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it, makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so many people seem to be hostile to it?

Thank you, Paul.
The political Waxmans of the world simply set themselves above the rest of us. They certainly won't be riding bicycles to work.
This whole scheme is simply another grab for power over our lives and productiveness.
These jerks simply cannot win this fight...once this "law" goes into the streets.
I wrote a comment the other day here at amspec simply reminding us that if the independent truckers across this country just get eaten up with taxes and fuel costs, they could decide to park their trucks...FOR ONE WEEK...and watch the American cities begin to starve.
You and I both can name a lot of similar bottlenecks in our economy...where stoppage for even a week would have the politicians scrambling for repeal...or dodging their home voter paint-ballers (smile)
