Why am I not surprised that Hollywood whitewashed the more sordid details of Milk's life? They did it with that stupid movie, Che, to "romanticize" on of history's most brutal killers, so why not Milk? And who knew that there was more truth than poetry to the "liberal KoolAid drinker" tagline?

Similarly, the MSM daily distorts the untruthful intensions of Barney Frank. Surely, Penn will fabricate a flattering and distorted screenplay/movie in his HONOR!!!!!

"the real" Harvey Milk. I love it. So an unproven rumour and being friends with a religious leader before he went nuts (Milk was killed days after the Jonestown event) is somehow enough to wipe his entire history? And the article's best attempt to counter the "message" of the film starts with Flynn creating that message himself ("What the film and legislation insinuate...is that homophobia killed Harvey Milk) and then disagreeing with it. It's nice to knock down your own strawmen, isn't it?
Even assuming arguendo that everything in the article is true, that doesn't change the gay rights struggle and the part Milk played in it - the main plotline of the movie. That's why the article - and WJA - recognizing that they can't counter that are reduced to trying to attack the man's character.
