Great Reuters Analysis

The always-excellent Steve Holland at Reuters really captured the flavor the Cheney event today. Read it here.

I was sitting next to Steve during the speech. I endorse every word of his description of the event.

Too bad George W. Bush doesn't have the guts to take on Obama. Bush gushes over Obama like a little schoolgirl. ("Contratulations on your awesome victory, man!") Bush must think he can rescue his legacy by saying nice things about Obama. Meanwhile, Obama trashes Bush every chance he gets.

Cheney is not crawling in and out of the political bed with Obama, as some Republicans have been doing. Obama's [and liberals' in general] constant bad-mouthing of anything American is nothing new, as this sort of thing has been fashionable throughout my lifetime. Europeon cars, wines, clothes, vacation sites, values, etc have always been preferable to those of America. The fact that this country has always been the one to rescue others in time of wars that were initiated by dictators, and their resultant economic/financial needs [post war] are easily overlooked by the Hampton/Beverly Hill Crowd. The fact that Cheney should have to disturb his well-earned retirement from a lifetime of service to this country to defend the US's attempt to rid the world of these radical religious nutjobs is incredulous and insane. It's a shame others don't have the guts and backbone to do it!!!!!
