Nancy Pelosi's position that she wasn't informed about waterbaording doesn't hold up to much scrutiny.

In 2005, the Washington Post reported:

In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.

The Politico reports:

Pelosi says she was briefed by Bush administration officials on the legal justification for using waterboarding — but that they never followed through on promises to inform her when they actually began using "enhanced" interrogation techniques.

Whatever your view of the waterboarding issue is, her explanation sounds lawerly and fishy.

Depends on what the definition of "is" is. I swear, when I think of my top 5 dishonest looking faces, she is always in there, along with John Kerry, BO and newcomers to the list Sebilius and Geithner.

Pelosi and credibility would be an oxymoron.

Bela Pelosi is Sgt. Schultz "I know nothing"

She played the part brilliantly this week. First over the Jane Harmon NSA wiretap and then this.

Compulsive LIAR!!! Her defense is as stupid as the democrat defense of authorizing Bush to use military force against Iraq and saying "Well, I didn't think he'd actually do it." Pelosi is a reflection of the dishonesty and downright stupidity of the modern leftist movement.

Imagine her outrage if the prisoners had been injected with botox and had their facial tissue stretched into horrible, permanent grimaces.

It isn't an issue of 'credibility' (unfortunately).

Pelosi denied it and now the left & MSM will claim / cling to / report the fact that she denied it and (as far as they are concerned) that will be the end of it .... "if Nancy says it didn't happen, then it didn't happen."

None of what's going on here is about a search for the truth - it's about flogging Republicans, period.
