Obama's Gracious Words

When this president does well, I will praise him. His speech yesterday re Holocaust remembrance was eloquent, thoughtful, and on point. I had only one tiny quibble with it, not worth detailing. Rather than any extended comments from me, the best testimony to what Obama said is in his own words at the link above, so please read it. Good stuff. And may we ever admire the people who survived the Holocaust but kept their faith, and their religious and relational kinsmen.

How many times do I need to tell you:

You don't judge Barry by his words but by his actions. Like those (not) taken to prevent the next Holocaust.

Quin, who gives two damns what he says, the impact of his allowing Iran to go nuke is the elimination of cities and communities. His rhetoric is as nothing before that mushroom cloud looming out there on our collective near horizon.

His words are as empty, nay imbecilic, as those of Chamberlain waving his piece of paper.

The only question remaining on this clown is what the over/under will be on the number of dead ensuing from his adolescent posturing and his leftist fantasies.

It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal used to kill; education that can enlighten used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy that sustains modern life used as the machinery of mass death -- a ruthless, chillingly efficient system where many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands.

This portion is especially good. Hopefully in a hundred years similar language will be used to decry our ghastly national experiment with legalized abortion.

There are many parallels.

And now it is the duty of the audience - including us - to hold him to his words.

I don't see 'bureaucracy' as something that sustains human life & putting 'homophobia' in the same sentence as the Holocaust is a bit much (but the President is who he is).

In sum - nice words; does he have the judgment to act on them appropriately?

Obama on the campaign trail... "JUST WORDS, JUST WORDS!!"

Obama on his European Apology Summit... "WORDS MUST MEAN SOMETHING!!"

What?????

I'm having to "willingly suspend disbelief" with regards to anything that Obama says about Jews & the Holocaust. When one sits in the Rev. Wrong's church for 20 years, I'd think that one would agree with the drivel being spouted there. Amongst the volumes of drivel spouted were the numerous solicitations for donations to Hezbollah & Hamas. This church also gave a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to LOUIS FARRAKAHN!!! Farrahkahn is another associate from Obama's past. Then, we have the OTHER "mild mannered" English professor in Obama's circle of friends, Rashid Khalidi, noted anti Semite & terror apologist. He & the Obamas were dinner buddies. He (Khalidi) & his wife BABYSAT OBAMAS KIDS!!! Please forgive my skepticism with regards to ANYTHING that Obama says that could be construed as "complementary" of Jews. Hell, if he didn't need Emmanuel's brains, I doubt he'd be there in the first place. Obama is a two faced putz.

Yes, a lovely speech, but with such a searing irony that one has to wonder if it is all "just words" with Obama, for real. Note this:

"It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal, used to kill; education that can enlighten, used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy that sustains modern life, used as the machinery of mass death, a ruthless, chillingly efficient system where many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands."

Yes, ironic, as hell.
