Earth Day is just a new, crappier reboot of Arbor day, except
with all the redeeming, practical characteristics removed, and
replaced with propaganda, politicization, and hand-wringing.

Earfday: people from town come out and wander down our lovely
dirt road looking for trash to bag up. Sometimes they make
comments about how burning brush should be illegal (it isn't) or
"Ho poor rural dupe! We have come to pick up the garbage on your
street, No need to thank us"!
" Listen up bud, I pick up the trash on this road everyday. It
gets here because some townie a--holes like to come out here and
dump their old tires and furniture for free. They also toss their
beer bottles out before they make it back to the paved road,
which the police patrol."
" Further, you didn't come out here to help me, you came out here
because you absolutely didn't want to walk down North Street
getting hit up for change by bums, while picking up used needles
and condoms. "
Yes, I'm a backroad dufus and that's what we think of you with
your sweaters and dockers and your Earfday neon trash totes.
