The Spectacle Blog

The Washington Times and Michelle Malkin have confirmed the authenticity of the DHS report smearing most conservatives as "Rightwing Extremists." So now I guess it's safe to confess that I have read that notorious extremist tract, the U.S. Constitution.

Also, the "right-wing billionaires" are paying me to go to Alabama for Wednesday's Tea Party protest. Between the billionaires and the extremists, folks down home are expecting a pretty good turnout.

I was skeptical at first because the thing reads like a ham handed spoof. Groups motivated by hate. Who talks that way other than the SPLC? But I guess it is real. How can they be so stupid? Did they not see the reaction to the Missouri report? Needless to say, this will backfire on them.

Safe drive, RSM.

It's 8th Day Yom Tov tomorrow. [Passover is the official Jewish celebration of freedom from bondage.]

To our observant friends at TAS, Hag Someach!

I can't get to our local Tea rally, many miles to walk. Sooo, I'll have to settle for a yard sign and my lapel button.

We the People... What an "extreme" idea.

ruth| 4.14.09 @ 2:37PM

RSM, I know you're trying to make light of this subject--but it's really not funny. It's quite bellicose, actually. What's their point and why are the libs doing this?

Tim| 4.14.09 @ 2:41PM

Those bureaucrats know who's buttering their bread for the next 8 years and they know what scares him.
Here they have resurrected the ever popular "messed up 'Nam vet" stereotype with swipes at NRA members and Catholics.
Maybe they should rename it Department of Fatherland Security.

Smitty| 4.14.09 @ 2:43PM

Catholics? Because they're pro-life? That's sick.

Teleprompter Messiah| 4.14.09 @ 4:26PM

Thank God for right wing extremists who fear God and are well armed. In 1776 they were known as Patriots.

Relentless mockery is the antidote to Leftwing lunacy puffed up as respectable security concerns.

"I'm A Scary Rightwing Extremist" T-Shirts for all!

NavyBrat| 4.14.09 @ 4:42PM

Teleprompter. If you print them, they will buy(the shirts)! I know I will! I love the self righteous indignation of libs with regards to conservatives protesting. For 8 years, all we heard was how Bush was Satan, Hitler, the anti Christ, etc. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, & we're mad enough to start protesting, we're all prime candidates for recruitment into the Aryan Brotherhood or the Klan. Funny, I'm Jewish, so do y'all think I'll fit in ok in my new political group? Oh, wait, most of that anti Semetic dirvel comes from lefties & conservatives no one listens to any more (Fat Buchannan).

Joe Heathen| 4.14.09 @ 5:14PM

Well, during the Bush era and the warrantless wiretapping and violations of Constitutional protection against warrantless searches, the neo-coonservatives were fond of proclaiming "if you've done nothing wrong, then you've nothing to worry about".
-
Shouldn't that same mindset hold true today? Or has the morbidity of hypocrisy come home to the practitioners of that black craft?
-
So, what's the problem? Take it like real men and quit whining.

Alan Brooks| 4.14.09 @ 5:16PM

rightwingers are supposed to be mean.
libs are squishy.

the world isnt a debating hall at Smith College.

Angel| 4.14.09 @ 5:25PM

Heathen, Bush's measures were meant to protect us from terrorists--not liberal terrorists like you--but Muslim extremist terrorists. We should have locked you morons up when we had the chance.

MT| 4.14.09 @ 5:27PM

Alan, Liberals are vicious to Conservatives but are weak when it comes to outside threats.

DaveinPhoenix| 4.14.09 @ 9:06PM

Right Wing Extremists ? God, if this ain't a replay of the Gingrich days, I don't know what is.

My definition of extremists is that of a people who:

1)Kill millions of innocent babies a year under the name of a "woman's right to choose".

2)Keep millions of free people locked into a welfare system which destroys them.

3)Spend our grandchildren into debt before they are even born.

4)Fool the ignorant with language like "invest" instead of "spend taxpayer dollars".

5)Set rich against poor, black against white, old against young, and public against private.

6)Allow our nation to be over-run with invaders from a foreign nation.

Yep, I guess I'm an extremist 'cause I don't believe in any of this stuff. Come and get me Janet. I'll be the unarmed guy standing outside the door of my apartment in N. Phoenix. Remember Phoenix, Janet ? The city with the most kidnappings, drop houses, meth houses, and illegal aliens in the entire nation ? The mess which was left behind as you scurried out of town for your high profile job in Washington is also what is extreme here....

MT| 4.14.09 @ 9:25PM

DaveinPhoenix--Right on!
