Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) has
told the folks back home that she will oppose the Employee
Free Choice Act:
Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., told a Monday meeting of the
Little Rock Political Animals Club that she will oppose the
Employee Free Choice Act.
Lincoln's office said the senator will release a statement on
the legislation this afternoon.
"I cannot support that bill," Lincoln said, according to one
attendee. "Cannot support that bill in its current form. Cannot
support and will not support moving it forward in its current
form."
There were plenty of red-state Democrats who were willing to vote
with their party on EFCA when there was little chance of it
passing. Now that each one of them could be the deciding vote,
especially in the Senate, they are taking a second look. Although
Arlen Specter's card check about-face may have made this less of
a threat, the most important question is how Lincoln would vote
on cloture, not just the bill's final passage.
UPDATE: Huffington Post
describes this as "the most devastating blow yet" for EFCA.

Good! Defeat the corrupt Unions' attempt to intimidate workers.

This shouldn't be news worthy now. Sen. Lincoln (D-WalMart) has been stalwart against the union thuggery bill for weeks.
