Read Atlas Shrugged more than 40 years ago.I was afraid, then that
what she wrote would come to pass in the World, and it looks like
she was right.
I didnt find it a dull read.It could make a great movie for this
time.

Read Atlas Shrugged in the 1960s. Reread again in the 1980s, just
finished rereading this year. Any Rand nailed it and we are now
living in the world she forecast.

Pecos Pete - do you mean the world brought about by unbridled
capitalist greed set free by deregulation, i.e where we are
today?
Burke| 4.3.09 @ 9:58AM
What "unbridled capitalist greed"?
We' re not a capitalistic nation and have not been for a very
long time. Govt's here take outright about 40% of the GNP and
"take" by control a lot more. As Milton Friedman said not long
before he died, we're "more than 50% socialist right now."
It's not capitalism that's failing. It's the massive intrusion of
govt into the economy. Thieves in Washington and elsewhere living
like parasites off the rest of us.
Mike, that wasn't Capitalism that failed it was a bunch of
companies tring to live off the Govt tit. When they all bought
the line of 'secure morages' from the Govt and they weren't,
instead of a bailout they should have been allowed to go belly
up. U haven't seen the real Free Market. I hope I'll see it's
return. Can't wait for this movie.
