Obama on Charities

I'd actually be all for eliminating the charitable tax deduction as part of a broader tax simplification, but Obama is pulling it out of thin air when he says that there's no reason to believe eliminating the deduction would affect charitable giving, as charities fear. The real debate is over whether the federal government should use the tax code as a way to manipulate social behavior as opposed to merely to raise revenue.

Y'all,

Obamanation is for reducing charitable deductions as much as possible. Then, the liberal media can decry how much suffering there is and how much Government needs to step in. Then Obamanation can advocate for an evern larger (if you can imagine) INCREASE and dependence on government give-aways! It's just that simple, and disgusting. Just another waypoint on thre "Road to Serfdom."

Conservatives give far more money to charities than liberals. Obama did this on purpose. POS.

I recall an incredibly thorough study done a while back, which posed questions to people aged 50+ immediately after they had voted outside of the building. The question was simple: Do you consider yourself to be a: 1) Liberal? 2) Moderate? 3) Conservative? For purposes of the study, all self professed moderates were excluded from consideration. Then of the 80,000 or so people questioned; a group of 40,000 individuals-20,000 liberals and 20,000 conservatives agreed to participate in the survey, which required them to disclose their tax returns for each of the last 8 years.
The findings were astounding! Yes, on average the self proclaimed Conservatives donated more than the Liberals, but not by a negligible percentage as I had expected. In measuring the mean, for every $1 dollar donated to a charity by a Liberal, Conservatives donated $5 dollars! This is 5 to 1. Conservatives donate 500% more to charity than Liberals. Therefore, one must conclude that Obama's sinister idea is researched, calculated, tactical and ideologically driven.
