"Now THIS is a leader we can believe in. "

If you believe in amnesty for illegals.

Jon, sir, please give it up. His bill was a NO amnesty bill. If you crack down hard on anybody who does not follow the rules,a nd force them to go back to their home country and then NOT return until and unless they register for a pass that makes them legan AND have a job already lined up, then they are not being given amnesty.

Quin, regardless, there is the issue of appearances. The issue was amnesty or enforcement only. Pence's half measure was an unhelpful flinch. We should have been pounding the pulpit about enforcement only, not offering up proposals for the sake of appearing to be reasonable.

His Numbers USA grade is a B. He gets a C+ on amnesties and an F- on legal immigration (visas).

Frankly, I found the best speech was the one from Newt. I also think he makes great points on moving forward on his web site. I have not been impressed with Jindanl and Palin definitely needs to take the time to get ready and a national presence. She needs to be able to show that she is more than a fiesty soccer mom. I remeber well that Newt lead the takeover of the house after wandering 40 years under dem rule. I think he can put forth ideas and speak about them fluently.

Newt doesn't have a conservative bone in his body. He is a technocratic futurist. Always babbling about the future. Conservatives don't primarily talk about the future. They seek to preserve the past. They talk about Burke, Henry, Calhoun, etc. They don't talk about Tofler.
