President Obama said at the town hall meeting in Elkhart, Indiana
that he hoped Congress would restore some of the education
funding that was stripped from the stimulus package to reduce its
cost as part of the effort to win support of moderates.
"I'll be honest with you, the Senate version cut a lot of these
education dollars," Obama said. "I would like to see some of that
restored, and over the next few days as we are having these
conversations, we should talk about how we can make sure we're
investing in education."
