Do not, as some ungracious pastors do,
Show me the steep and thorny way to heaven;
Whiles, like a puff'd and reckless libertine,
Himself the primrose path of dalliance treads,
And recks not his own rede.

Hamlet, I, iii

Today, the AP reports:

Robert Gibbs told reporters Tuesday, "The bar that we set is the highest that any administration in the country has ever set."

During a briefing filled with questions about Tom Daschle's decision to withdraw from consideration to be Health and Human Services secretary, Gibbs pointed to experts who describe the administration's ethics rules as the strongest in history.

He also said those experts recognized that Obama would need to make exceptions to his pledge to run an administration free of former lobbyists.

nice Shakespeare quote. Blagojevich (remember him) will be quoting him at his trial.

Three pertinent quotes from the Bard: "Now is the winter of our discontent," (King Richard III) and "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown," (King Henry IV). My personal favorite from Measure for Measure is, "The miserable have no other medicine but only Hope," (Liberals in general--'Hope and Change we can believe in'). LOL.

...but i guess by now you've seen obama "recking his own rede" humbly all over the cable news shows.

Actually, Gibbs, you've set that bar so low I could barely do the Limbo under it.

(ps. i meant that as a positive thing.)

we could dance the Limbaugh under the bar!

Alan Brooks| 2.3.09 @ 9:51PM

(ps. that is positive, too)

you can dance the Limbaugh three hours every afternoon.

How the mighty have fallen! If anyone deserved a comeuppance, Obama did, and he got it. He's a mere mortal now, but of course he's gone the extra step to become utterly supine, apologizing all over the place. Which the Democrats love! Why they want their President to be sorry all the time is beyond my comprehension. They worship weakness.

And how about Obama going to a kids school, and lecturing them about the stimulus package. LOL. What a goober. But boy does it feel good to see the shine come off Obama. The press had built him up so high, I guess he thought he had carte blanche.

Nazis and commies always go through the children to get to their parents.
