Robert Kuttner, who wrote a
book last year on Barack Obama's potential to be a
transformational liberal president, is
thrilled with Obama's Task Force on Middle Class Working
Families, and his corresponding statement, which Kuttner called,
"the kind of explicit endorsement that we literally haven't heard
from a president since FDR's day." Among other things, Obama
declared, "I do not view the labor movement as part of the
problem, to me it's part of the solution."
There has been a lot of talk about the relative moderation of
Obama's economic team, but it's been abundantly clear that he
doesn't plan on forgetting the big unions that helped him get to
the White House.
Well, that Obama comment just seals the deal doesn't it? Anyone,
I mean anyone, who sees labor unions as part of the solution
either don't know history, don't care about the destructiveness
of unions to their hosts as long as their leftists politics are
advanced, or are so thoroughly left-wing that they can't see
beyond their own narrow-mindedness.
Which is it with the president, the smartest guy in the world
(according to his supporters and so-called media pundits like
David Brooks)? Perhaps a combination of the three.
