It's not just radio anymore:

(H/T: Hot Air.) You really have to ask yourself why the media-strategy geniuses of the Bush administration never thought of doing the weekly radio address via YouTube. Meanwhile, note the new president's justification of his plan:

"I know that some are skeptical about the size and scale of this recovery plan. . . . We won't just throw money at our problems - we'll invest in what works."

"What works"? Apparently not highway construction. Despite all the yadda-yadda-yadda about fixing America's infrastructure, only 3% of the stimulus is targeted for roads and bridges.

A bait-and-switch you can believe in!

Change, small change, very small change like nickels and dimes...

Speaking of bailouts, how about some trickle up economics. For a little over 300 million dollars; that's million with an M, not a B; the government could give every citizen of the U.S. one million dollars to inject into the economy. Trickle up economics could be better than trickle down economics. Of course the inflation might be a bit rough. But, hey, it would be cheaper that what the government is doing now, even if we had to do it 1000 times it would still be less than we have spent so far. I'll take a check.

Thomas,

I've seen some bad math in the stimulus debates, but this sure takes the cake. Are you saying that there are only 300 U.S. citizens?

More correctly, for $300,000,000 (that's 300 million, in case you're confused), the government could give each citizen approximately $1.00. (That's one dollar. Just one.)

That ain't much of a trickle, up or down.

DRD,

You are 100% correct. Scratch my last post please.
As we all know, alcohol and keyboards don't mix and apparently neither do keyboards and prescription cough syrup.

I knew that it sounded too good to be true.

Because the post WMD Bush administration cowered, unwilling to defend or promote itself. I don't think Youtube would have entered their collective mind. From supinely accepting blame for Katrina, to letting Libby hang in the wind, to embracing AGW and absurdly listing the polar bear as endangered, they refused to defend or promote themselves, and caved to their critics. Like Nixon, those the left hates the most seem to do their utmost to placate them, only to seal their demise.

Frank, your observations are right of target.
Your analysis is not. An asute master politition, FDR, observed that nothing in politics happens by acident.
Our political scene since Reagan, has been shaped by a good cop-bad cop scenario.
Ever wonder why GHW Bush and Clinton were such good buddies?
They were in same business, fighting the War on Drugs. Too bad that they were on the wrong side.
GHW did all he could to lose to Clinton while GW and McCain rolled over for Barrack (neither would point out that Barry was made of the Wright stuff).
The point? To impliment the formation of a North American Union with the amero as a common curency.

Yeah, Pres. Obama has style, but even in his worst days, President Bush had it all over Obama in the substance department. Still does. I'll take substance over style any old day of the week.
