Apparently worried that the flubbed oath might actually be a problem -- or perhaps just seeking a pristine version -- Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to President Barack Obama a second time.

Soooooo - the remote concern, which required this exercise of utmost caution and attention to detail, was that litigious right wing nuts might challenge his authority due to a bungled oath.

Will the POTUS reissue all of the executive orders in the interim to avoid challenges by the same litigious right wing nuts?

Talk about asking for it - and in cahoots with the CJ to boot!

Funny turn of events for the eloquent one.

this is nothing.

but lets go easy on obama, hard on some of the a-holes who are doubtlessly working for him.

Actually, according to the good folks over at Volokh, this is not the first time the oath has been re-administered... it's the third. The other two Presidents who got a do-over were Calvin Coolidge and Chester Arthur.

I agree we gotta stop Obama's lefty socialist policies, but raking him over the coals for something like this smacks too much of BDS for me, gang.

CW, you think these posts rake Obama over the coals? Dang. I only wish this was the kind of treatment the left meted out to poor President Bush. I don't care about this and laughed about it. I don't think we have to be so thin-skinned on behalf of Obomber.

Ruth, I think us conservatives need to quit aiming our fire at each other and instead aim at the real opponent... the lefties in both parties.

Look, Roberts goofed, Obama goofed, they thought it better to make sure it was done right, so they took care of it. It ain't the first time and probably won't be the last.

In the grand scheme of the deification of Obama, there's bigger concerns than him taking the oath a second time--his wanting to shut down Gitmo, for example. So, much as I hate to copy a lefty website, let's just MOVE ON.

No bible of any sort this time. And his first call was to Abbas of Gaza.

Hey, don't blame me - I voted for McCain!

I didn't aim fire at you Con. Wanderer, I replied to your fire. This thread is in good humor, but thanks for the lecture anyway.
