Moving Beyond Race

If we really are post-racial, then let's ACT post-racial. As I write in my column (linked in the first sentence), it's time to stop all the racial bean-counting.

Oh -- and P.S., May God bless this new president and these United States.

Today's Barackapalooza is insulting to the civil rights movement, if we are to take Dr. King's 1963 speech at face value. We are celebrating this election because of the new president's skin color. If we judged him by the content of his character, we would be very, very concerned. It turns out the 2008 election was pure narcissism. The most narcissistic candidate beat the slightly less narcissistic candidate because the majority of voters narcissistically supported the candidate that would make them feel best about themselves. If no one has said it before, let me be the first: universal sufferage leads to universal suffering as self-interested politicians mortgage the country's future generations in pursuit of personal policy preferences. The Blessed One is nothing more than a narcissistic politician pursuing self-aggrandizement. We will see that before his four-year term is up.

didn't want to write it until today but am pleased because now my post-liberal guilt is at an end; owe nothing whatsoever to any 'person of color' .

can say: "alrighty, one of your kind is in the saddle
-- now leave me alone!"

people ought to stay away from each other except in church. they just want to manipulate each other; they just want something.

Where is the bombastic Interloper? Oh, probably at the The One's inauguration with tears streaming down his face.
