Under questioning by Dick Lugar, Hillary Clinton expressed that
the new administration would pursue arms control agreements and
non-prolifiration, specifically a new START treaty with Russia
that would reduce the nuclear arsenal, and she reiterated Obama's
desire to rid the world of nuclear weapons. She dismissed the
criticism that such agreements are useless because good actors
don't need them and bad actors ignore them, arguing that by
pursuing such agreements, the U.S. is in a stronger position to
isolate bad actors. In his
book, John Bolton makes a strong argument for why such
agreements tie the hands of the U.S., especially when it comes to
pursuing missile defense.

Where do all these magical incantations come from? Even a brief
investigation in recent history shows that countries like Germany
and France will only do the isolating gig when it is in their own
interest to do so. Europe would be quite happy to sell the Devil
more pitchforks as they were promptly paid.
As the founder of TAS once said, the only times Europe approves
American efforts on the world stage when America does their dirty
work for them or when it rescues Europe from its own foreign
policy disasters.

Ms. Clinton can come up with no real, factual, proof for her
position so she mouths a liberal platitude - no nukes is good
therefore treaties seeking that end are good. No further proof
needed.
They use this same idiocy on the micro level about gun control
laws. Wvwey single person whose brain lives and thinks knows that
gun control laws only control the guns in the hands of law
abiding citizens. They leave the murderous scum that populates
our cities the only armed people.
But the media loves it! It is liberal orthodoxy and so, if you
don't agree, you are too stupid and right wing to walk and chew
gum.
