His Royal Hateness?

Ready for a pop quiz? A video of Prince Harry of Wales clowning around with his army friends has caused an uproar in England because:

  • A. The Prince mocks the national anthem by pretending to ring off the phone with his grandmother, saying "God save you."
  • B. The video is full of crude sexual references, including mocking an army comrade as "gay" and "queer."
  • C. He referred to a fellow soldier as "our little Paki friend, Ahmed."

If you guessed "C," you're correct. Both "A" and "B" are also true, but it was mainly the "Paki" that compelled an apology from Harry, third in line for the throne. Over at PJM, I ask, Is Harry a bigot?

Looks like Harry is still discovering that "all the world's a stage..."

His grandfather Prince Phillip is an oaf as well. Has made many idiotic racial faux pas.

That said, of course you can't offend the ROP!!

Give a Harry a break, especially considering the fact that the Royal Family is the butt of so many jokes.

crude sexual references in this day and age?
it simply can't be.
Harry must have been quoted out of context, he certainly meant 'gay' as in happy or joyful.

queer means odd, unusual.

Oh yea, Prince Harry has to subscribe to all the postmodern notions of human sexuality, heaven forfend if he actually allowed his views to be those shared by generations upon generations of his forefathers.

And of course he has to be fully on board the notion about the wonderful diversity achieved by bringing into his country, and the country of his fathers, millions upon millions of muslims.

Seems to me Harry, perhaps through his time in the field, with the British Army, has actually gotten a damn good sense about the "ahmeds" of this existence.
