This is a terrible loss.  I imagine First Things (his stellar journal of religion and culture) will provide information about the funeral and tributes in the near future.

I only knew him through reading First Things. I feel America and the public square is much more naked now. He lead that fight.

"do you really believe in heaven?" people ask.

There had better be. to go through all this and not get to Heaven would be unconscionable of the Creator, an oxymoron.
