Apparently President-elect Barack Obama is having a good time in
Hawaii. According to the Honolulu Advertiser, he
attended a concert on Monday and "the whole audience broke into
the rousing cheers of 'hurrah!' and enthusiastically welcomed
him."
Oh, sorry. That is what the Korean Central News Agency said
happened when "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il attended a concert on
Monday. I sometimes get the two confused. Actually,
the best way for the president-elect to get that kind
of reception would be to step onto the newsroom floor of the
New York Times or the Washington Post.
It also sounds a lot like Sarah Palin. From the way most of you
talk, she is the REAL Messiah. However, do you think she ever
attended a concert? Perhaps that is the issue.

Wow. Bob. Your'e so damn classy.
Sarah Palin is a typical American mother who decided to get
involved with her community and who has risen to where she is on
her own , fighting corruption, and the power base in her state.
and she succeeded.
No one thinks she's a Messiah.. what they say is the Ideal our
Founding Fathers talked about when they envisioned an active and
involved citizenry.
And here you are.. a small little man knocking her down. What a
great American you are. What a man!!
I never really felt embarrassed for this country before.. but
that first weekend she was announced for VP and the
America-Hating Left and Media launched their Instant Jihad
against her.. that was the first time.
I never thought Americans would be such savage beasts to that
extent but I was wrong.
You guys sure are spreading your misery and hate around, so if
that's your plan.. it's working.
Bob| 12.30.08 @ 2:41PM
Vince, you've got to be kidding. The way you and others fawn over
Sarah does make her YOUR Messiah. Are you saying that Obama, who
came from a poor family, went to the best schools based upon his
intelligence, served the community as an organizer, and served in
the state senate for 8 years didn't work his way up the system?
Only the crassest ultra-right wing conservatives believe Obama to
be "the Messiah". I see no reason why Sarah should not be treated
in the same way.
I don't hate Sarah, she is just the least knowledgeable people
who has ever been on a presidential ticket. That's not hate, it
is fact.
What I find interesting is that you're willing to dish it out,
but get upset when you are on the receiving end.
As I've said many times, my guy was Romney and I also like
Jindal. Both are far better than Palin. By the way, years ago I
joined a group that tried to recruit Jeane Kirkpatrick. It is not
that Sarah is a woman, it is that she lacks the intellectual
curiosity to hold the office of President.

Bitter Bob, you were gone for a while and I figured that your
absence was our Christmas gift from you. Dang, you're back. Did
you hear that Bristol gave birth to a baby boy yesterday? Ain't
that great?
Bob| 12.30.08 @ 5:26PM
Ruth, I was never gone for more than a day. I see you missed me.
Awwwwww.... Yes, I heard about Bristol. What a great example,
getting pregnant before marriage just like her mother.... I guess
the apple doesn't fall far from the tree....
ruth| 12.30.08 @ 7:09PM
Yeah, Bitter Bob, missed you--like a particularly nasty case of
hemorrhoids.
Ran| 12.30.08 @ 8:54PM
Doug,
Something to cheer? The Post might survive this new year, but
some are speculating that the NY Times will be auctioned-off.
That moment - whenever it arrives - will be a moment for
enthusiastic cheering, on the one hand, and anger over what
Sulzberger had done to what had probably been America's premier
Brand.
[winces] Bob has returned...
"I don't hate Sarah, she is just the least knowledgeable
people [sic] who has ever been on a presidential ticket. That's
not hate, it is fact."
Whether it's "hate" or not, one can tell by the follow-up
"What a great example, getting pregnant before marriage just
like her mother.... I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the
tree.... If that is not hateful, it is clearly
bitter and poorly expressed opinion.
Whether it is factual... Hmmm. It has about as much of the ring
of truth to it as in Bob's earlier claim that "[He] studied
religion when [he] was young and translated the original five
books of Moses from the original Aramaic when [he] was 10."
He may or may not have studied religion, but if he had studied
the original Five Books of Moses, he'd have found only
biblical-era Hebrew in those specific volumes.
Bob's nonsense may be hateful, poorly expressed, grammatically
challenged and factually dissembling, but I'm with Vince... it
sure is classy.
I get the feeling that Bob is going to hang around here for more
attention this coming year. It may be worth the effort to ignore
it?
ruth| 12.30.08 @ 9:08PM
True enough, Ran, but sometimes it's hard to ignore a pain in the
@$$. :)
Bob| 12.31.08 @ 8:32AM
It is interesting that Ran is so obsessed with me that he doesn't
see his own radical bias. Perhaps he should learn something about
biblical Aramaic. I am not a biblical scholar as he is, and I
remember more Aramaic than is probably there. So, Ran, I'll give
you this one.
However, it is a fact that Sarah Palin became pregnant prior to
her marriage. Perhaps that is why they ran off to get a civil
ceremony and didn't tell their families. This is not hateful, it
is fact. Any by the way, in the same sense of "Magic Negro", it
is satire. If you laugh at one, you should laugh at the other.
So, Ran, except for your orthodox religious background, do you
have anything to add in terms of politics, economics, or even
conservative thought? Or do you just want to spew hate at another
poster? And please, if you wish to ignore my posts, given that
yours have a lack of substance, please do so....
Ruth, on the other hand, I get a kick out of yours... Keep it
up...
