Mona Charen's latest piece, "Defending Rick Warren," is
interesting. While the title leads one to believe it may be a
sort of defense of Warren's choice to speak at Obama's
inauguration, it's actually more of a defense of his beliefs
regarding gay marriage and thus traditional conservatives'
arguments against it.
What particularly outraged gay rights activists was a comment
Warren made in a TV interview when he compared two homosexuals
getting married to a brother marrying a sister or an adult
marrying a child...And yet, the point Warren was making was a
valid one.
From here, Charen details what supporters of gay marriage always
call 'the slippery slope' argument in a way that is actually
quite persuasive.
It's worth a look.
