RNC Chair, explained

Over at NRO, Jim Geraghty has a great column about what is REALLY needed -- and what is irrelevant -- in the search for the best RNC chairman. Well worth a read.

Quin, this is an excellent summary. What I would propose, however, is that each candidate actually put together a fairly detailed plan. As someone who worked in the business world for all of my adult life developing new concepts, I can tell you three things are of prime importance in a manager/leader. First, the ability to look at the data and provide a competent and objective analysis even if it disagrees with ideology. Secondly, the ability to quickly respond to changes in the market/political climate. The ability to develop a strategy and stick to it. This last point was done especially well by the Obama team, for example.

In essence, you want someone who has the intellectual ability to think and analyze data as well as being an excellent presenter.

In other words somone just like Bob, whoever he is.

Mike, not me. I can do this in business, but I don't have the knowledge base in politics. Yes, I can analyze and develop strategies, but this person must also be able to execute. This is the same reason I could not support Palin -- she did not have the knowledge base.

Bob Trollworthy is disqualified from the post of RNC chairman by his inability to list appropriately. His headings should have been--First, Secondly and Tertius. (Alternatively, 1, B, III)

He's right about Palin, though. All she has is the ability to accomplish things, a quality shared by neither Obama nor Biden.

Dai... Palin did not accomplish the bridge to nowhere even though she supported it and did accomplish a windfall profits tax on the oil companies. She also reigned over the largest per capita use of earmarks of any state. We'll see what she can do now that oil prices are low and she doesn't have all that money to give away.

She also accomplished to raise a child with such moral looseness that she became pregnant before she was married. Oh, that's right, Palin did the same thing....

You go, girl!!!!
