Hugh Hewitt had Mike Huckabee
on his show yesterday. I missed it, but read the
transcript and found this gem:
HH: Governor, here’s a contradiction in the book, and I read it
very closely. On some places like Page 70, you denounce “yuppie
greedheads”. Another place, you’re assaulting the management of
Halliburton and Home Depot and Pfizer. And then in another
place, you’re palling around at the ranch of Chuck Norris,
whose done very well in life, and it’s a very funny chapter, by
the way. I wish I’d been there when you were filming this
commercial. But when is accumulated wealth okay, and when do
you find it a reason to denounce someone like a yuppie
greedhead? I mean, what’s the difference between a yuppie
greedhead and Chuck Norris?
MH: A couple of fists. That’s the big difference.
HH: (laughing)
MH: Now look…
HH: Oh, you’re good, Governor.

I'll admit it, that was a good line but Huckabee makes me barf in my mouth.
Captain America| 11.26.08 @ 12:41PM
Huckabee = self serving, vindictive, petty smuck.
ruth| 11.26.08 @ 1:16PM
Huckabee is glib, slippery if you will--maybe that's why I don't trust him.
Bob| 11.26.08 @ 2:11PM
...and Palin is a know nothing who looks good... I don't like Huckabee either, but because he is a ideological social conservative.
ruth| 11.26.08 @ 3:22PM
Keep bringing her up, Bob. You constantly remind us of Palin, making sure we don't forget her. Thank you.
WendyG| 11.26.08 @ 3:40PM
Bob is all attack Palin all the time. A shrink might opine that Bob is suffering from unrequited love. :)
Bob| 11.26.08 @ 3:45PM
Wendy, I'll ask my wife if she will accept polygamy. You are available, aren't you?
Ruth, I like Palin as much as I like Lindsay Lohan -- and for the same reasons....
Ann Garner | 11.26.08 @ 5:18PM
I am peeved at Huckabee because he lacks self-criticism, in that he cannot recognize the contradictions he holds, just as Hugh tried to point out to him. On the other hand, he seems to enjoy pointing out weaknesses in competitors' religion (here think Romney) or experience level
(Sarah Palin).
He is simply too smug, but I do like his sense of humor when he is not trashing Conservatives.
ruth| 11.26.08 @ 6:22PM
Last time I checked, Lohan was not the governor of Alaska. I pity your wife being married to such a sexist pig. But no worries, the Governor will be back big time. Count on it, Bob.
Thomas| 11.26.08 @ 6:34PM
Huckabee is is a politician. He says what he thinks his audience wants to hear at any given moment. He is simply a political opportunist. He has proven, repeatedly, that he is not conservative at base.
As for Bob. He serves a purpose. He makes the rest of us look even more intelligent.
Happy Thanksgiving.
ruth| 11.26.08 @ 7:01PM
Thomas, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I am also thankful that there is only one Bob on this blog. Cheers!
Bob| 11.27.08 @ 8:37AM
Thomas -- I've been looking back at your posts, and I can't find anything you've said that was intelligent. Your comments lack reason and any analytical solidity.
Ruth -- It's interesting that when someone tells the truth about someone you like, you call them a sexist but rail against those who bring up racism when speaking about Obama. I find both of those intellectually weak and showing great bias.
Both of you are examples of what's wrong with the Republican party today -- a penchant for anti-intellectualism and usage of belief over reason.
Enjoy the bird....
ruth| 11.27.08 @ 1:07PM
Governor Palin will be back!
Thomas| 11.27.08 @ 5:30PM
In that case, perhaps you would enjoy the intellectual repartee over at the Daily Kos, more.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving holidays.
chukmaty| 11.27.08 @ 7:27PM
god grief, Hugh Hewitt is a moron.
Greedheads are individuals who are cheating and stealing to get what they got and then asking for government bailouts when they lose. Huckabee has been always in support of good people being successful. Again, Hewitt is a moron.
Quartermaster| 11.28.08 @ 10:43AM
Bob is a hoot. Looking back over his posts all I see is a lot of bald assertions that show he hates centrists and those a little to the right of center. He has no substance. He simply hates anyone with anything like traditional mores and supports those who also have traditional mores.
If he gets his way the Reps will be permanently in the minority as they were before the hated SoCons came on the scene. The left is ROFL over such ignorance.
Bob| 11.28.08 @ 5:53PM
Quartermaster, please don't make up your own facts. Republicans have held more governing majorities than Democrats. In fact, they've held the White House much more than Democrats. Since Lincoln, when the party was created, there have been 19 Republican Presidents and 8 Democratic Presidents. How you can make the argument that Republicans have been in the minority is beyond rational. Do you see what I mean by "anti-intellectual"?
The "so-cons" had nothing to do with making Republicans a majority.
ruth| 11.28.08 @ 11:18PM
Bob, give it up, you are tilting at windmills. We so-cons own the republican party. Go back to the democrats where you belong. This is Sarah's party!

Groan, isn't Fox exposure enough?
Lori| 11.29.08 @ 11:20PM
Huckapedia---that is just sick. A fan club for a politician? Sounds self-serving instead of public serving. You know that sort of thing only encourages him. You are creating a monster.
