Having run unsuccessfully for both the
Republican and Constitution
Party presidential nominations this year, nominated himself
as the America's Independent Party presidential candidate, gotten
his revenge on the Constitution Party by claiming its California
state ballot line, and finally cracked 40,000 votes in the
general election, some of us were curious as to what Alan Keyes
would do for his next act.
Well, Dave Weigel found
out so you don't have to. Keyes is trying to keep Barack
Obama from receiving California's electoral votes until the
president-elect has provided a birth certificate proving he was
born in the United States. Of course, if Keyes was really serious
about keeping Obama from becoming president the best thing he
could have done was
decided against his 2004 Senate race from Illinois.
As Weigel points out, Keyes is actually the sanest person
actively involved in pushing this conspiracy theory. Phil Berg is
a
9/11 truther, Andy Martin once ran for Congress (as a
Democrat) in order
"exterminate Jew power." More interesting is what has
happened to Keyes. He was once an interesting conservative
thinker, even if he lacked the people skills for electoral
politics. But the Obama-Keyes Senate race seems to have been a
sad turning point in the former Reagan administration official's
career.
Confession/full disclosure: I voted for Keyes for president in
the 1996 and 2000 Republican primaries.
Alen Keyes needs to be commended for his endurance in the fight
against the culture of death in this once moral nation.
His problem is that he hasn't learned the Christ he follows told
his apostles - "...be as cunning as serpents...."
Alan prefers to try to remove a splinter with a Gatling gun. A
good man with an abrasive technique that only backfires.

The senatorial race against Obama was Keyes' to lose. He
grandstanded, and wanted attention for issues that were not on
the forefront in that race, and he lost. I used to like and
respect him, but now I see that everything he's done in he last
5-8 years have been in order to feed that gigantic ego of his. If
that's what he'd always been about, I would have dismissed him as
a buffoon a long time ago; but I know he was meant for better
things and that he's let self-righteousness and smugness go to an
extreme. Henry Hyde never behaved like that, he always had
humility and modesty in the forefront.
I agree with 99% of the issues he stands for, but now my skin
crawls when I see him defend them, and when I see the airs of
superiority that he adopts when he explains his beliefs. He plays
straight into the role of self-righteousness , and like a bad
soprano, falls flat when instead of high-minded he can only reach
high-handed. That Alan Keyes ran after his last disastruous
attempt, just to tell himself that he told people what's
"righteous", is again proof (to me) that he had to feed that
beast, his ego.
J David| 11.17.08 @ 9:23AM
I voted for Keyes in the 2000 primaries, and I am not at all
ashamed of it. People ALWAYS hate the prophets. Ann Coulter is
hated by many for proclaiming the truth, but she has never run
for office, and so has not become a threat to anyone as a
political opponent.
Those who read Alan Keyes, and call themselves *conservative*,
can not disagree with what he says. I cannot, for the life of me,
see where someone like Mr Antell sees a benefit to ANYONE, in the
entire universe, benefits from making light of Keyes, whatever
his success, or lack of it BECAUSE HE GOT OFF OF HIS ARSE and did
something instead of sitting around just writing about other
people doing so and making fun of them.
If Hussein has slipped thru the system and been elected in spite
of the Constitution's requirements, HE SHOULD NOT BE
CERTIFIED!!!! How is that an improper request of the Messiah, Mr
Antell the Third?

communist, and will force our allegiance forthwith anyway), I
REALLY want to know.
As a Wisconsian I was ill to see Illionoisited Republicans
suckered Keyes into a run against Obama in '04. Chicago Machine

If WI had Keyes on ballot, or I had known it was running, last

J David| 11.17.08 @ 10:30AM
I still want to know of one single individual in this galaxy or

which just happens to be YOU, Mr Antell the Third... typically,
self-cannabalization won't long satisfy hunger.

Oops! Sorry (sort of) about the misspelled name...
I'm usually a fan of your work, but this particular article, and
what possibly could be the reason for it, utterly baffles me.
Confession is good for the soul. I voted for Keyes in both of
those years, too. I also contributed to his campaign in 1996 and
in 2004 (Illinois Senate). To my good fortune, I turned down an
invitation to come join the campaign in 2004 in favor of
continuing my doctoral studies.
Jack| 11.17.08 @ 12:11PM
Alan Keyes? really? He is a joke. You people on the far right
really need to pull your heads out-you just can't grasp the fact
the American people did not vote YOUR way so you are hanging on
to the bitter end to any inane reason you can to have the will of
the American people overturned. President-elect Obama WAS born in
the US so get over it already-and he is not a communist either
and this "Messiah" nonsense you people call him, using his middle
name, etc. is laughable, but go ahead-keep saying this idiotic
stuff. That will be one way to ensure your demise as any kind of
reasonable voice in American political society.
Obama has continued to be the man behind the curtain. Rather than
step forward and produce the records so that an informed
evaluation of whether he meets the Constitutional standard of
being a "natural born citizen" all of his records have been
sealed. I am sorry, producing a copy of a short form birth
certificate does not answer the questions. We now know that the
State of Hawaii is holding Obama's original long form version of
his birth certificate. Obama could have produced this document by
signing a release and paying $12.00. Obama continues to refuse to
do so.
People are judged by their actions. Obama and his legal team
fighting to keep Obama's records sealed and hidden from review
speak to something to hide.
These records are now clearly of public interest and will
ultimately come out. If Obama is not eligible to hold the office
of the President as he does not meet the "natural born" standard
that needs to be found out before he is sworn in.
There is a hearing in Hawaii Court on Nov. 18 brought by Andy
Martin asking that the Court orders the original long form
version of Obama's birth certificate produced. I hope the Court
orders the vault version of the birth certificate produced. That
will be the first step in the evaluation of Obama's credentials
that should have been done long ago by the Democratic National
Committee as questions about Obama's eligibility go back as far
as February of this year.
J. David, I'll tell you exactly why I've become critical of
Keyes, a man I've admired and supported in the past: His
campaigns and crusades are not serious efforts aimed at
accomplishing any tangible result. They are no longer even
effective at getting Keyes' message out. I can't support Keyes
soliciting donations from pro-life grandmothers and other decent
people under those conditions. These people are giving him money
to undertake political efforts that are at best exercises in
self-promotion and at worst exercises in marginalizing
conservatism.
John| 11.17.08 @ 2:30PM
For the love of Pete, Alan had 86 days to run against Obama in
'04 and only answered the call of his party in doing so. Ask the
real question, how did Obama (actually the media) get sealed
divorce records opened on Obama's actual opponent.
Watch some 2000 GOP primary debates and you tell me what kind on
man Alan Keyes is.
He is a thinker who doesn't have the package American voters are
looking for. Too bad for American voters.
Try looking at voting for what's best for the country for the
next 100 years and not what they'll give you in the next
four!!
Alan Keyes is a patriot and this suit is an act of that
patriotism. It's not like he'll be president if this suit has
merit, it'll be Biden, so it's a fairly selfless act if you ask
me. He's the one willing to look like a "kook" all for our
constitution.
Matthew| 11.17.08 @ 4:16PM

Susie| 11.17.08 @ 7:53PM
I think the reason Obama Doesn't want the full certificate opened
is because his parents maybe were not married and he thought
certain people would not have voted for him, which the courts can
keep it sealed for that maybe. Just a guess...there is something
not normal about the whole thing but if it was the Kenya thing
the Republicans woud have jumped on it sooner but then it could
be true. So guess we'll see soon enough.

Even if Obama is ligit in qualifying for President, why won't he
show the proof? Also, who is responsible for checking the
qualifications for people running for President? The Socialist
Party got a candidate on the ballot who is not qualified. Does
the constitution mean nothing? Yes, if no one enforces it. So I
am thankful for Mr. Keye's effort in California to hold the Sec.
of State responsible for carrying out her duties.
Finally, the hate Keyes crowd are doing the party no good. Alot
of people respect him. A lot of people do not. He poses no threat
to the party so why slam him for the democrats' and rinos'
pleasure in creating division - a promise of demoract majority
power. Politics is a team sport.
John| 11.18.08 @ 3:28PM
What is this nonsense between long-form and short-form. The
campaign made the birth certificate available. End of story, case
closed. Unless someone tells me that the short-form is not a
legal document, then what is the hold-up? I pretty much already
know the answer. I hope BHO wakes up and gets some real bastards

implement his agenda.

just because someone who isn't a far righty is in the top office?
I didn't know conservatives could be so emo.
Also, as John said, there is no legal difference between long and
short form certificates. Are you people saying that, if your
original birth certificate was lost in a fire or something of
that nature, that you wouldn't be eligible for office?
Franklin| 11.18.08 @ 3:55PM
Also, the governor of Hawaii didn't seal the records, she simply
reiterated that the records are sealed. She can't legally unseal
them.
claudia| 11.18.08 @ 6:44PM
What is Keyes trying to accomplish??!! Why do this now? If he -
and anyone else who wanted to defeat Obama - were truly serious,
would have done this during the primaries! I just don't
understand why people such as Keyes decide to act so stupidly so
late in the game. I once thought Keyes had it in him to run for
president, but lately, he's just acting the fool.

Walter| 11.18.08 @ 9:06PM
I hope there is nothing substantial to it; I don’t like the guy (
BHO ), I think he’s bad for the nation; but the strife his
removal by any other means than by the next presidential election
would cause is not something I want to see happen. (And likely
will cause strife in the form of sore-loser riots even if he is
voted out in four years.)
However, if there is something to it, then . . Oh boy, what a
dilemma: damned if you do ( proceed with his disqualification )
and damned if you don’t (let him besmirch the constitution).
If there is nothing to hide, I really can’t understand why he
doesn’t want these documents proving his natural-born status
and/or his sole citizenship. His very obstinance itself is a slap
in the face. It’s giving the finger to us all.
I want there to be nothing to hide. I’m even of the mind that
even if he has some perhaps minor technical difficulties in his
qualifications, I would accept an act of Congress - - the present
Congress - - declaring him legally qualified.
But whatever it is, it needs to be ascertained and he absolutely
must submit to the law as any one of us has to - - even to get a
license, register for school, etc.
Dear Republicans,
How does it feel to have a Christianity-hating liberal as your
president? How does it feel to know that your conservative,
Christian culture is nearing extinction? How does it feel to know
that those are now ancient things of the past as we enter New
America? How does it feel to know that being a close-minded
brainwashed conservative Christian is no longer politically
correct?
Franklin| 11.18.08 @ 11:17PM
Inevitability,
Unless you are being sarcastic, I should point out he's a
Christian.

About long form vs. short form birth certificate , the state
department website
( http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html
)says:
"A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised,
embossed,
impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the
date
the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which
must
be within 1 year of your birth. Please note, some short
(abstract)
versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport
purposes.
The short form is not good enough for passport. FYI.
Franklin| 11.19.08 @ 2:58PM
By that logic, Obama's birth certificate must be legitimate,
since he was able to get a passport without any trouble.
I would like to reiterate an earlier question for you
tinfoil-hatters. In the event that someone's original long-form
certificate is lost, such as during a fire, does that make that
person ineligible for office?
"This is silly. Show the original and this all goes away. Simple.
Duh!"
All WHAT goes away? This birth certificate thing is like a
mosquito attacking a tank. No one takes it seriously except the
mosquito and the tank doesn't notice a thing.
Even better, it's Barack HUSSEIN Obama. I'm already looking
forward to the collective stroke in Rushland during that part of
the oath of office.
John| 11.19.08 @ 7:18PM
The birth certificate he provided does have a registrar's raised
& embossed seal, a registrar’s signature, and the date the
certificate was filed with the registrar's office, and was
certified within 1 year of his birth. It's the same copy of a
birth certificate you'd get by going to the probate office and
asking for a copy of your birth certificate.
Think about it... I mean seriously... He would have had to have
known his entire life where he was born. OK? His mother was
American, so even if he wasn't born here he still would have been
able to live here. So there was no reason ever to lie to him as a
child. In fact, to satisfy socio-economical goals for
universities, it could have been a blessing for him to be foreign
born.
Now unless you tin foil hat lunatics think that from the day he
was born there was a Manchurian Candidate conspiracy of some sort
for this baby to be president, then just take the birth
certificate provided and MOVE THE HELL ON.
This is such a ridiculous topic.
Ted| 11.19.08 @ 10:16PM

blackout of the looming Obama Birth Certificate Constitutional
Crisis:
Legitimately questioning a potential President's basic

Obama easily and simply provide easy simple proof of his birth
[and background]?

Got it. If you can't attack the message then attack the

The people bringing the lawsuits are NOT putting us through this.
Obama and the DNC are doing this to us. Produce a "REAL" birth
certificate, not a forgery, and get it over with.

Sorry John,
You said "The birth certificate he provided does have a
registrar's raised & embossed seal, a registrar’s signature,
and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's
office, and was certified within 1 year of his birth."
Obama did NOT provide a birth certificate. He provided a
Certificate of Live Birth. There is a definite difference.
Besides, what he provided was a forgeryand the person that forged
it, and has ties to the Daily Kos, admitted that he had made the
document.
Try reading a website other than "FightTheSmears", which is a
smear in and of itself.

Congratulations to Mr. Keyes. Of all of the now 17 lawsuits filed
around the country, almost all of which were dismissed on a legal
technicallity of "lack of standing". Mr. Keyes as he was on the
ballot in California has no such short coming. He has filed a
suit that will require Mr. Obama to finally show up in Court and
prove that he meets the Constitutional standard of a "natural
born citizen".
Mr. Keyes is also represented by a very competent attorney Gary
Kreep. Here is a copy of the complaint:
http://missionviejo.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/keyes-v-obama.pdf
You can go to the Sacramento Superior Court website and watch the
progress.
If Obama ignores this case he will be stripped of the 55
California elector votes. The only question is if this can be
resolved before the Electoral College meets on Dec. 15.
Obama and the DNC should be ashamed of themselves not handling
this in an open and transparent fashion before the election.
Given how hard Obama has been fighting to protect his records
including his original birth certificate (not the COLB he
produced to factcheck and such sites, who contrary to what many
think are not authorized government agencies involved in vetting
candidates). While I am at it where has the press been on this
story since last February. Why hasn't anyone asked Mr. Obama how
he came to vistit Pakistan in 1981 and what passport he used for
that trip?
I heard on the news last night how the Obama team is "agressively
vetting every person they are appointing in their
administration". They need to start at the top.
Read the complaint, Mr. Kreep has laid out the issues in an easy
and comprehensive manner. Keep a bag of popcorn handy this is
going to be interesting.

A very frightening incident! This incident is recounted by a
person known as "TF" who is 100% vouched for.
"TF" said this: During the period of roughly February 1986 to mid
1990, I was making frequent trips to Moscow, USSR, in the process
of starting a software development joint-venture company with
some people from the USSR scientific community. One of the men in
charge on the USSR side was a man known to many in the foreign
service as "V. M." He had a wife we will call "T.K." As the
evening wore on, T.K developed a decidedly rough anti-American
edge.
"Well, I think you are going to be surprised when you get a black
president very soon. What if I told you that you will have a
black president very soon and he will be a Commanist?" The
out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares.
She continued, "Well, you will; and he will be a Commanist."
One of us asked, It sounds like you know something we done know.
"Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born
and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now.
You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best
schools of Presidents. He is what you call "Ivy League" so he
looks down his nose at real americans . You done believe me, but
he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His
mother is wite and his father from Africar. And he going to be
your President He has been raised from the cradle to be an athe
ist and a islamic Iman and a Commanist. He is being guided every
step of the way to be a facist and he will be irresistible to
America!"
We sat there not knowing what to say. She was obviously very
happy that the Commanists were doing this and the elites would be
looking down thier noses at America: they would give us a black
president and hed be a Commanist to boot. He was from Hawaii. He
would go to school in California. He will live in Chicago. He was
to be elected to the legislature. Have no doubt: he is one of us,
a Soviet. We Sovieters regain our strength and become the number
one power in the world.
This chilling incident proves that Soviets knew of Barack from a
very early date.

My favorite "Get over it" or how about "conservatives are

The continuing efforts of a fringe group of conservatives to deny

fact that these efforts are being led by Alan Keyes, a demagogue

What's destructive is people's apparent lack of understanding of
Constitutional Law and their understanding of history. This
includes YOU.
Do a search on the following: de Vittal and "Natural-born
citizen".
Then come back and see who's usurping power here. HINT: de Vittal
is the backbone of Constitutional Law. When you find the
definition as stated in 1758, may I suggest you take a long hard
look at yourself in the mirror and ask if you would have voted
for him considering he's an ineligible liar and a con man, just
like Chester Arthur was.
If you do, you will find the very opposite definition of what you
said. "Da Vittles" as my old prof used to call him, was quite the
joker. He was once credited with the invention of Tarot cards.
If you really want the scoop on pre 1770 Constitutional Law, I
suggest you search for "l'Comptivoi" and "Naturalized Citizen".

I agree with 99% of the issues he stands for, but now my skin crawls when I see him defend them, and when I see the airs of superiority that he adopts when he explains his beliefs. He plays straight into the role of self-righteousness , and like a bad soprano, falls flat when instead of high-minded he can only reach high-handed. That Alan Keyes ran after his last disastruous attempt, just to tell himself that he told people what's "righteous", is again proof (to me) that he had to feed that beast, his ego.

I voted for Keyes in the 2000 primaries, and I am not at all ashamed of it. People ALWAYS hate the prophets. Ann Coulter is hated by many for proclaiming the truth, but she has never run for office, and so has not become a threat to anyone as a political opponent.
Those who read Alan Keyes, and call themselves *conservative*, can not disagree with what he says. I cannot, for the life of me, see where someone like Mr Antell sees a benefit to ANYONE, in the entire universe, benefits from making light of Keyes, whatever his success, or lack of it BECAUSE HE GOT OFF OF HIS ARSE and did something instead of sitting around just writing about other people doing so and making fun of them.
If Hussein has slipped thru the system and been elected in spite of the Constitution's requirements, HE SHOULD NOT BE CERTIFIED!!!! How is that an improper request of the Messiah, Mr Antell the Third?

Alan Keyes? really? He is a joke. You people on the far right really need to pull your heads out-you just can't grasp the fact the American people did not vote YOUR way so you are hanging on to the bitter end to any inane reason you can to have the will of the American people overturned. President-elect Obama WAS born in the US so get over it already-and he is not a communist either and this "Messiah" nonsense you people call him, using his middle name, etc. is laughable, but go ahead-keep saying this idiotic stuff. That will be one way to ensure your demise as any kind of reasonable voice in American political society.

Obama has continued to be the man behind the curtain. Rather than step forward and produce the records so that an informed evaluation of whether he meets the Constitutional standard of being a "natural born citizen" all of his records have been sealed. I am sorry, producing a copy of a short form birth certificate does not answer the questions. We now know that the State of Hawaii is holding Obama's original long form version of his birth certificate. Obama could have produced this document by signing a release and paying $12.00. Obama continues to refuse to do so.
People are judged by their actions. Obama and his legal team fighting to keep Obama's records sealed and hidden from review speak to something to hide.
These records are now clearly of public interest and will ultimately come out. If Obama is not eligible to hold the office of the President as he does not meet the "natural born" standard that needs to be found out before he is sworn in.
There is a hearing in Hawaii Court on Nov. 18 brought by Andy Martin asking that the Court orders the original long form version of Obama's birth certificate produced. I hope the Court orders the vault version of the birth certificate produced. That will be the first step in the evaluation of Obama's credentials that should have been done long ago by the Democratic National Committee as questions about Obama's eligibility go back as far as February of this year.

J. David, I'll tell you exactly why I've become critical of Keyes, a man I've admired and supported in the past: His campaigns and crusades are not serious efforts aimed at accomplishing any tangible result. They are no longer even effective at getting Keyes' message out. I can't support Keyes soliciting donations from pro-life grandmothers and other decent people under those conditions. These people are giving him money to undertake political efforts that are at best exercises in self-promotion and at worst exercises in marginalizing conservatism.
John| 11.17.08 @ 2:30PM
For the love of Pete, Alan had 86 days to run against Obama in '04 and only answered the call of his party in doing so. Ask the real question, how did Obama (actually the media) get sealed divorce records opened on Obama's actual opponent.
Watch some 2000 GOP primary debates and you tell me what kind on man Alan Keyes is.
He is a thinker who doesn't have the package American voters are looking for. Too bad for American voters.
Try looking at voting for what's best for the country for the next 100 years and not what they'll give you in the next four!!
Alan Keyes is a patriot and this suit is an act of that patriotism. It's not like he'll be president if this suit has merit, it'll be Biden, so it's a fairly selfless act if you ask me. He's the one willing to look like a "kook" all for our constitution.

I think the reason Obama Doesn't want the full certificate opened is because his parents maybe were not married and he thought certain people would not have voted for him, which the courts can keep it sealed for that maybe. Just a guess...there is something not normal about the whole thing but if it was the Kenya thing the Republicans woud have jumped on it sooner but then it could be true. So guess we'll see soon enough.

Even if Obama is ligit in qualifying for President, why won't he show the proof? Also, who is responsible for checking the qualifications for people running for President? The Socialist Party got a candidate on the ballot who is not qualified. Does the constitution mean nothing? Yes, if no one enforces it. So I am thankful for Mr. Keye's effort in California to hold the Sec. of State responsible for carrying out her duties.
Finally, the hate Keyes crowd are doing the party no good. Alot of people respect him. A lot of people do not. He poses no threat to the party so why slam him for the democrats' and rinos' pleasure in creating division - a promise of demoract majority power. Politics is a team sport.

What is this nonsense between long-form and short-form. The campaign made the birth certificate available. End of story, case closed. Unless someone tells me that the short-form is not a legal document, then what is the hold-up? I pretty much already know the answer. I hope BHO wakes up and gets some real bastards in his office cause he's going to have to fight tooth and nail to implement his agenda.

Franklin| 11.18.08 @ 3:55PM
Also, the governor of Hawaii didn't seal the records, she simply reiterated that the records are sealed. She can't legally unseal them.

I hope there is nothing substantial to it; I don’t like the guy ( BHO ), I think he’s bad for the nation; but the strife his removal by any other means than by the next presidential election would cause is not something I want to see happen. (And likely will cause strife in the form of sore-loser riots even if he is voted out in four years.)
However, if there is something to it, then . . Oh boy, what a dilemma: damned if you do ( proceed with his disqualification ) and damned if you don’t (let him besmirch the constitution).
If there is nothing to hide, I really can’t understand why he doesn’t want these documents proving his natural-born status and/or his sole citizenship. His very obstinance itself is a slap in the face. It’s giving the finger to us all.
I want there to be nothing to hide. I’m even of the mind that even if he has some perhaps minor technical difficulties in his qualifications, I would accept an act of Congress - - the present Congress - - declaring him legally qualified.
But whatever it is, it needs to be ascertained and he absolutely must submit to the law as any one of us has to - - even to get a license, register for school, etc.

About long form vs. short form birth certificate , the state department website
( http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html )says:
"A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised, embossed,
impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date
the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which must
be within 1 year of your birth. Please note, some short (abstract)
versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.
The short form is not good enough for passport. FYI.
Franklin| 11.19.08 @ 2:58PM
By that logic, Obama's birth certificate must be legitimate, since he was able to get a passport without any trouble.
I would like to reiterate an earlier question for you tinfoil-hatters. In the event that someone's original long-form certificate is lost, such as during a fire, does that make that person ineligible for office?

The birth certificate he provided does have a registrar's raised & embossed seal, a registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, and was certified within 1 year of his birth. It's the same copy of a birth certificate you'd get by going to the probate office and asking for a copy of your birth certificate.
Think about it... I mean seriously... He would have had to have known his entire life where he was born. OK? His mother was American, so even if he wasn't born here he still would have been able to live here. So there was no reason ever to lie to him as a child. In fact, to satisfy socio-economical goals for universities, it could have been a blessing for him to be foreign born.
Now unless you tin foil hat lunatics think that from the day he was born there was a Manchurian Candidate conspiracy of some sort for this baby to be president, then just take the birth certificate provided and MOVE THE HELL ON.
This is such a ridiculous topic.

Got it. If you can't attack the message then attack the messenger.
The people bringing the lawsuits are NOT putting us through this. Obama and the DNC are doing this to us. Produce a "REAL" birth certificate, not a forgery, and get it over with.

Sorry John,
You said "The birth certificate he provided does have a registrar's raised & embossed seal, a registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, and was certified within 1 year of his birth."
Obama did NOT provide a birth certificate. He provided a Certificate of Live Birth. There is a definite difference. Besides, what he provided was a forgeryand the person that forged it, and has ties to the Daily Kos, admitted that he had made the document.
Try reading a website other than "FightTheSmears", which is a smear in and of itself.
John Adams| 11.20.08 @ 1:12PM
Congratulations to Mr. Keyes. Of all of the now 17 lawsuits filed around the country, almost all of which were dismissed on a legal technicallity of "lack of standing". Mr. Keyes as he was on the ballot in California has no such short coming. He has filed a suit that will require Mr. Obama to finally show up in Court and prove that he meets the Constitutional standard of a "natural born citizen".
Mr. Keyes is also represented by a very competent attorney Gary Kreep. Here is a copy of the complaint:
http://missionviejo.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/keyes-v-obama.pdf
You can go to the Sacramento Superior Court website and watch the progress.
If Obama ignores this case he will be stripped of the 55 California elector votes. The only question is if this can be resolved before the Electoral College meets on Dec. 15.
Obama and the DNC should be ashamed of themselves not handling this in an open and transparent fashion before the election. Given how hard Obama has been fighting to protect his records including his original birth certificate (not the COLB he produced to factcheck and such sites, who contrary to what many think are not authorized government agencies involved in vetting candidates). While I am at it where has the press been on this story since last February. Why hasn't anyone asked Mr. Obama how he came to vistit Pakistan in 1981 and what passport he used for that trip?
I heard on the news last night how the Obama team is "agressively vetting every person they are appointing in their administration". They need to start at the top.
Read the complaint, Mr. Kreep has laid out the issues in an easy and comprehensive manner. Keep a bag of popcorn handy this is going to be interesting.

A very frightening incident! This incident is recounted by a person known as "TF" who is 100% vouched for.
"TF" said this: During the period of roughly February 1986 to mid 1990, I was making frequent trips to Moscow, USSR, in the process of starting a software development joint-venture company with some people from the USSR scientific community. One of the men in charge on the USSR side was a man known to many in the foreign service as "V. M." He had a wife we will call "T.K." As the evening wore on, T.K developed a decidedly rough anti-American edge.
"Well, I think you are going to be surprised when you get a black president very soon. What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Commanist?" The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares.
She continued, "Well, you will; and he will be a Commanist."
One of us asked, It sounds like you know something we done know.
"Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of Presidents. He is what you call "Ivy League" so he looks down his nose at real americans . You done believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is wite and his father from Africar. And he going to be your President He has been raised from the cradle to be an athe ist and a islamic Iman and a Commanist. He is being guided every step of the way to be a facist and he will be irresistible to America!"
We sat there not knowing what to say. She was obviously very happy that the Commanists were doing this and the elites would be looking down thier noses at America: they would give us a black president and hed be a Commanist to boot. He was from Hawaii. He would go to school in California. He will live in Chicago. He was to be elected to the legislature. Have no doubt: he is one of us, a Soviet. We Sovieters regain our strength and become the number one power in the world.
This chilling incident proves that Soviets knew of Barack from a very early date.

My favorite "Get over it" or how about "conservatives are pathetic". I also like "this is silly, this is ridiculous and this is stupid". Liberals have their heads in the sand deep enough to see Hong Cong. They cannot see the gravity of the issue and prefer instead to spout simplistic cliches'. The consequences of trying to destroy the soveriengty and the integrity of the constitution is civil unrest. The continuing efforts of a fringe group of conservatives to deny Obama his victory and to lay the basis for the claim that he is not a legitimate president is embarrassing and destructive. The fact that these efforts are being led by Alan Keyes, a demagogue who lost a Senate election to the then-unknown Obama by 42 points, should be a warning in itself.
People who would believe such specious, improbable nonsense are not only gullible and naïve, but so desperate to find something against the person they fear and hate, that they make fools of themselves publicizing a fantasy about the secret, mysterious danger that person represents.

What's destructive is people's apparent lack of understanding of Constitutional Law and their understanding of history. This includes YOU.
Do a search on the following: de Vittal and "Natural-born citizen".
Then come back and see who's usurping power here. HINT: de Vittal is the backbone of Constitutional Law. When you find the definition as stated in 1758, may I suggest you take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask if you would have voted for him considering he's an ineligible liar and a con man, just like Chester Arthur was.

If you do, you will find the very opposite definition of what you said. "Da Vittles" as my old prof used to call him, was quite the joker. He was once credited with the invention of Tarot cards.
