GOPAC's 527

As an addendum to my earlier post on GOPAC, I am informed that GOPAC has a 527 component that did do a little more campaign activity than GOPAC itself id. Still, it's expenditures are heavily weighted toward its own fundraising. But others can judge the overall effectiveness better than I. See here.

You realize, don't you, that GOPAC has never donated significant sums to candidates? That was never its purpose - GOPAC exists to provide training for candidates and committees, and that's what the majority of its non-fundraising expenditures are for. It's been a decade since I worked there, but from what I hear they still do a good job at their core mission.

I'll admit, though, that GOPAC has never fully recovered from losing Newt as chairman.
