Hail to the Chief

Rahm Emanuel is a partisan, a liberal, and a bare-knuckled political brawler. But there is a silver lining in this pick: Emanuel has vivid memories of 1994 and has been fiercely protective of the more moderate red-state Democrats he has gotten elected as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. While these facts may complicate Republican efforts to retake Congress or the presidency, they could also serve as a check on some of Obama's most liberal ambitions. Emanuel will be perfectly willing to use the new Democratic majorities, but not lose them.

UPDATE: See what I mean?

Emanuel's also very pro-Israel, for the Zionists among us.

Those deluding themselves with fantasies of moderation are about to get smacked hard with reality. Quin's prognostications yesterday, of the commie-lib Dems plans to rig the game entirely for their own permanent power (and all of the losses of liberty resulting) are dead-on, as far as they go, and that is entirely what they are going to be about while they have all the reins in their hands. They are not spineless squishes like the RINO Party, and discipline will be severely enforced, both by party whips, and by their attack-dog enforcement arm MSM.
