My grandmother served as mother to me and my 4 siblings while my mom held down 1 to 3 jobs. It is one of many reasons I support Obama. He comes from a family that knows what it is like to sacrifice and work together. I can barely write this note because of the tears in my eyes. What joy to have such a great grandmother and what pain to know she did not live for Nov. 4. I know, however, that she is sitting next to my grandmother watching all the events. God bless you and your family.

Debbbie - How pathetic. There are thousands of families that have struggled to make ends meet and this is your reason for voting for a marxist pig who despises America. Perhaps your grandma is shaking her head knowing that your vote may enable this lying sack to be president.

Tom,
You earn the "Bronx Salute" for your post.

That Obama has a grandmother, who died, makes him a human being, not a good choice as president. What a nitwit the first post is. And to think that this woman meant so much and he wanted to be by her side, but he was not, nor did his own wife and children go along to say goodbye. This speaks volumes of the respect or lack thereof.

wow... I wonder who pulled the plug?
I thought the official story was - Barry was leaving Hawaii because Toot was doing much better..

Well, I hate to admit it, but my thoughts were similar to cjsomewhere's when I heard the news. The timing is just amazing. However, I hope his wonderful grandmother slipped away peacefully. She was the only mother he really knew, so my heart goes out to him. That being said, I hope he loses today.

I almost agree with:

HOWEVER....my heart does not go out to him. Am also wondering why we were told she was recovering from a fall....and when some asked why his wife and children did not bother to pay a visit to her.....we were told she was recovering nicely, and they would be visiting later on. More Obama lies....

Sorry to be blunt, but what a bunch of hateful losers. It was well known that Obama's grandmother was in her final days, and Obama visited her while she was still apparently aware. Good for him, and God rest her soul.

I do not much admire Obama's politics and scant experience, but it is totally uncalled for to turn a sad family occasion into another wild rant against the guy. Just remember that we are all called to justification and judgment for our words in this life.

Fortunately, Sen McCain and his wife were capable of making appropriate comments in condolence. You folks should learn from his example.

Barb, you and others "weren't told" about Ms. Durham's cancer because IT ISN'T ANYONES BUSINESS --- imagine that!
