Barney Frank, who already has talked about the need to raise taxes, spoke to the South Coast Standard Times, and "called for a 25 percent cut in military spending, saying the Pentagon has to start choosing from its many weapons programs..." That, of course, would be absolutely insane. Frank totally ignores the lesson of 9/11 and the so-called Clinton era peace dividend, the continued threat from Islamic terrorism, the prospect of a nuclear Iran, a resurgent Russia, and emerging China amid other dangers in the world. But what's frightening is that he is not alone, and would likely have a sympathetic ear in Barack Obama, who I've noted before has a long-standing antipathy to military spending, dating back at leastto his failed Congressional race in 2000.

Obama will have to find some way to pay for all of the various economic stimulus measures the Democrats are cooking up, as well as his tax plans, and his proposed expansion of social programs. Taxing the rich won't make up enough of the difference, and defense, it seems, will be a ripe target. See also, the video below, taken during the primary, in which Obama tells an anti-defense spending group about all of the weapons systems he plans to cut.

Like Rush says, "We are so screwed"!

Obama’s tax policy and his proposed "tax cuts" are not going to make more jobs in America, instead it will make more unemployment and will cause people to lose more money, not make more money. His left wing illuminati thoughts are going to get this country into trouble and leave us there for years to come!

To every hate filled and fear mongering person out there: give it rest. My dog could've run the country better than the Republicans and Bush. One bumper sticker I read put it best, "there's a village somewhere in Texas missing it's idiot".

Your dumba** VP candidate is the one spewing out the fear of CRISIS during their first six months (gag) in office. And talk about hate--I haven't heard much love from your side for Governor Palin and her family. Idiot liberal hypocrite--there's a village out there missing you!

Ah, the ostrich mentality at work. Yes, everyone who warns about possible attacks against the United States is hate filled and fear mongering. Except, of course, the Democrat Vice Presidential candidate, Joe Biden. This is not fear mongering, folks. This is reality. There is a big world outside the borders of the United States and it harbors many people and nations who bode us ill. Just this week, the friendly, peace-loving rulers of Iran suggested preemptive strikes against Israel and the UK. The Chinese, with no visible threat anywhere in the Pacific or Asia have been steadily building their armed forces and expanding their capabilities. They have tested the ability to destroy satellites in space. What possible enemy of theirs has such satellites? Hum? Terrorists still roam the world creating havoc, though to a lesser degree since so many of them were killed in Iraq. The current leadership of Democrat party in Washington is insane. No military, no domestic oil, free housing for those who can't afford it [at the expense of the rest of us, of course], free government health care, hell, free money and two chickens in every pot. Karl would be very proud.
