Joe the Plumber

Do you think he could beat Dickie Flatt in an election?

I wonder if this will end up like Obama's debates with Alan Keyes. Any intelligent observer would have to conclude Keyes had better arguments but Obama came across as the more likeable, reasonable guy swatting down his opponent's ideological objections. But McCain at least gave a strong performance.

Ashby, you missed the point that Joe made about wanting to expand his business by adding additional trucks and workers to grow his company. He SAID THAT Tax increases will cause his plans to ADD WORKERS and BUY EQUIPMENT to be put on HOLD. Looks like small business will be in a forced recession with O's tax cuts.

pumpkin, I read Joe owes back taxes and has two liens. Shouldn't he pay his taxes before he thinks about BUYING A BUSINESS, ADDING WORKERS and BUYING EQUIPMENT? Maybe Joe is thinking if he continues not paying his taxes in a few years he can buy that plumbing business. LOL

You are absolutely correct. If Joe makes an additional 100,000 and has to pay that massive extra 3,000 dollars in taxes he will never be able to expand. Whats the sense in starting a business if instead of making 64,000 on every 100,000 you are only making 61,000. Its not worth the effort. Turns out Joe was a complete flake anyway. But ask Joe what has rolled downhill under the Bush/Mccain administraion, he is a plumber he can tell you.

October 16, 2008 - 'Joe the Plumber' expresses high regard for Dr. Alan Keyes. 'Joe' says Keyes, " ... could probably fix the country in two (2) years ... "
