The "Partisans" vs. Neutrals on CNN

I'm looking at the line-up and not quite getting it. They start with the "partisan" desk, then go to the neutral desk. But the neutral desk has David Gergen and Campbell Brown. Really? How's that work?

um, actually, gergen has served as an advisor both democratic and republican presidents - far more of the latter, actualy. in fact, he worked for ford, regan, nixon and bush. come on, just b/c he worked as an advisor to clinton doesn't make him a partisan democrat. look at his history.

But Gergen has been an O-bomb cheerleader this whole election cycle. Regardless of his distant past, only blind folks or arrogant news crews could pretend any different.

Erik -- I hear you. His credentials are certainly bipartisan. But whenever the man appears on a news show, especially in the last 16 years or so, he's been with the Democrats. I don't think he doesn't make good points. Sometimes he does. I just think suggesting that he's neutral, rather than political, is silly.

Campbell Brown acts like a wanta-be, she is in the Dem's pocket and feels that is where she can be viewed as somewhat of a political guru.
