Obama says that if we allowed people to purchase insurance out
of state, all insurers would move to a state in which they could
offer plans that didn't mandate coverage of certain treatments. But
under the current system in which there are nearly 2,000 mandates
nationwide, Americans in highly regulated states are denied the
ability to purchase cheaper, basic plans if that's all they desire.
It's as if the government required you to purchase a Porsche, and
if you can't afford one, you end up with no car at all.
