Vague and calmly reassuring -- a positive message. But we're
probably past the point in the campaign when positive messages have
much impact. It's now a duel fought with chainsaws at close range,
the object being to cut the other guy off at the knees. I suppose
Team Maverick wants to leave that ugly business to the 527s.
